  1. Alright I'm sold on the alternate version! I still think you should be able to send it as any element regardless of what you have. Also, not sure about auto-cast.
  2. Wow this is very interesting. I think it could be exactly what we've been looking for...a way to make the game more interactive between players. I'd like to roll with this. I'm not sure about the boss being tied to your elements though. I think that adds a layer of complexity which might be too much for most players. It also makes it harder to balance. What if instead we simplify it... The boss has no abilities. You can summon a boss of any element at anytime. The rest stays the same except higher scaling. That way players only have to consider three things; when to send it, who to send it to, and what element to send it as.

  5. Yes, EleTD will be free to play. Custom cosmetics and options will cost money. Nothing that gives a gameplay advantage though.
  6. Yes it would work. But as you hinted at, the DotA 2 version is going to be much nicer. We're making good progress. We'll have an alpha ready next month! The release itself is targeted for year's end.
  7. The SC2 version had a lot of changes. So if you're just used to the WC3 version then it will definitely be fresh for you.
  8. I'm guessing you've decided this due to the Edict limit in Dota 2 currently? I don't see any other reason why you wouldn't want to post it, other than not being able to complete it at this stage in Dota 2 modding You hinted at the reason. We will not be able to complete it at this stage in DotA 2 modding. Our aim is high quality and we're not going to release until the first impression is worthy of the brand.
  9. We've decided against putting this on D2Mods. There will be screenshots and videos as development progresses. But, it won't be playable until it's officially released on DotA 2.

  13. I've decided to use the opportunity of DotA 2 to replace what I consider to be poor tower ideas. These towers include; Quark (Earth + Light) Mushroom (Earth + Nature) Poison (Darkness + Water) Laser (Darkness + Earth + Light) I'm done going through all of the tower suggestion threads and I have narrowed potential ideas down to; 1. Tower with single target that gains damage every time it attacks. Caps after a certain amount of attacks. Damage gain per attack is based on damage dealt (so it grows faster over time). 2. Tower with single target that gains damage every time it attacks. Does not cap. Damage gain resets upon attacking a different target. 3. Tower with splash that gains mana every time it attacks. When it reaches max mana, its attack becomes super powered, dealing massive damage for a short period of time. It must then restart from 0 mana again. 4. Tower with single target that does very high damage. The more creeps there are in an AoE around the target, the less damage this tower does to that target. 5. Tower with single target. Every other attack on the same target does AoE damage around that target in addition to damage normally dealt. 6. Tower with splash that does damage based on the ratio of Current HP/Max HP. So the closer creeps are to death, the less damage this tower deals. What do you guys think? Welcome to add new ideas too.

  15. Valve actually has nothing to do with it. While it would be cool to have their official support, this is something that we are doing ourselves. And yes, I'm sure this version will revive the community.

  17. I haven't gotten to the SC2 updates yet. Part of me hesitates because SC2 is dying out and DotA 2 is on the horizon. The site and these forums are going to be purposed for DotA 2 once that version is ready.

  20. Yes, there will be a DotA 2 version! And I haven't forgotten about SC2, I've just been busy. I will get to it soon.
