  1. Join the Forum Draft Series when it starts...
  2. playing mixed difficulty more or less requires the VH player to play at the fastest 2-pass placement (meaning numpad IV V), or at most the next fastest (numpad III). The cooldown should be long enough to clear at the 2nd pass at the fastest placement. Don't expect to be able to interest farm as much as single player. More so in VH random, rushing other players out by creep spamming is part of the game, done by pros by building at the start, switching to the next fastest position, if the elements allow them to do so.
  3. remember that starting with one or two extra investments gives way more minerals, even more if you sell and rebuild heavily.. ~1000 minerals is closer to what you get without spending gas on extra investments at competitive tower placements..
  4. Shouldn't happen. if you did, it's a bug. level 2s come out after wave 15 or 20. lvl 3s come out after wave 40 or 45..
  5. those who have been playing for a while probably got used to the constant micro some towers require. in the old LWFN build, there was plenty of micro to do. spawn the particle field, micro the celerity towers, douse when needed on tsunami towers and occasionally manually choosing towers for well tower. that being said, there is a balance between too much clicking and optimally using towers by mirco to gain an advantage. good placement does help too. towers that require micro deal better damage than regular towers to compensate when used optimally. without micro, it'll probably be the same or just slightly weaker as any other non-micro tower.
  6. may not be that good either. then you can't get the 6th element for periodic on wave 55 on a 5-element build for instance..
  7. only for host. the first one sets the minimum difficulty for the entire game. the second one sets your own difficulty. so for the first one, you can set normal for the game, then very hard for yourself in the second dialog.

  16. only difficulty is selected by the player. and any player who chooses to -random in a pick game. the timer refers to the countdown (based on difficulty) once any player finishes the wave.
  17. selling and rebuilding towers for interest (even more so in random, where the entire defence could be sold and rebuilt based on element) was part of higher-level eletd play in wc3. One aspect of the game that makes eletd what it is. In wc3 competitive single player (mostly the forum draft series), top players spent the first 3 lumber on interest, played the first 30 waves just building and selling elemental arrow towers and farming the interest.
  18. starcraft 2 closed beta? doubt very many wc3 eletd players are left.. especially those who release replays regularly..
  19. agreed! there's no way to change area in single player.. if it's not possible to choose, start the player at a random slot. at least in single player wc3 you could move to the desired slot to change area..
  20. the short range towers feel right but the long range (wc3 1100-1500) towers don't cover the area they do.. (electricity tower is 1100 range.)
