to be exact, 75% refund for all elemental towers (any tower that did not start from a ray or grenade tower).
-
Used properly, it is one of the best towers in the game. It would take up most of your attention but leads to a very strong build.
-
Back in the wc3 days for FDS, top players opened with $$$ and turned in replays that were under 45 minutes in length, playing all 60 waves in very hard difficulty.
-
Interesting ideas but as already mentioned, players are already requesting to cut down the attention that needs to be given to individual towers (celerity, torrent etc). so any tower that takes all or most of the player's attention is probably a poor idea.
-
Very useful information. Compiled and added to guide.
-
The one that cannot be done with sc2 cheats is to spawn any wave of the player's choice. not sure if the game can detect single player, but otherwise, in beta, commands exist to set a specific amount of minerals, vespene and wave.
-
Probably celerity tower. For the damage and the tower that got removed from the pool the most number of times in the FDS...
-
It should...
-
Competitive VH same random (short) chaos mode, although few public players are able to survive more than 10 waves. No two games are ever identical. There will be the occasional randOOM, but that is what makes the game interesting. Sometimes, it is not about reaching the end, but making better use of the sequences than your opponents.
-
You'll have to find the map on bnet itself under most popular maps...
-
One issue in casual mode: if someone finishes early, that player can sell all towers while waiting for the others to clear leaks and farm a lot of interest.
-
We are working on getting the league started.. meanwhile, have fun completing the challenges (currently suspended due to replay bug) and forum draft series.
-
networth is the total amount of minerals you have. this includes unspent minerals and the amount of minerals you'll receive for selling all your towers (100% refund for non-elemental towers, 75% for elemental towers, unless on random where all towers sell for 100%) dual query displays the duals you can build with the elements you have. (help a lot in random!) triple query displays the triples you can build with the elements you have. (help a lot in random!)

In what difficulty?
-
if you know how to use it properly, there is rarely a need to douse more than once per wave (unless in random mode)... save the douse for the waves that you need the damage.
-
In full competitive, long range is actually a disadvantage. Find the correct placements for the short range towers. You do know that the torrent tower's douse can be cast manually at any level (besides zero)? It's not so straightforward to just change elemental damage types of individual towers without looking at the overall distribution.

SC2 itself can show apm in replay files..

creep element: -light, -darkness, -water, -fire, -nature, -earth creep abilities: -healing, -fast, -image, -mechanical, -undead wave order: -next player commands: -random, -zoom, -ma (display matchup - player difficulty etc), -kick (initiate a vote to kick a player),
-
what if multiple towers are selected? it's different from 'U' for upgrade as there is only one possibility. well. magnify and (radius) have 2 abilities each..
-
Doesn't work properly.. unless it has a casting time of a few seconds?
-
Is there a hotkey for douse?

SECTION 1: PRE-GAME MODE SELECTION. Standard: Play in a tower wars style. Send creeps to your opponents for income and to eliminate them. There are no waves sent by the AI. When you send creeps to your opponents, the creeps are also sent to yourself. Classic: Play a tower defence game. Build towers to defend against waves sent by the AI in a defined order (chaos mode aside). Classic Game Modes #1: Game selection Competitive: All players play on the same difficulty. Wave countdown begins once a player clears the wave. Casual: A mixed difficulty mode. Each player selects difficulty independently of the other players. Wave countdown begins once a wave is spawned. The countdown is as follows: level 1-15: 30 seconds, level 16-30: 45 seconds, level 31-45: 60 seconds, level 46-60:75 seconds, 60 seconds before wave 61 commences. Race: All players play on the same difficulty. Wave countdown is independent for each player. Essentially, you play your own game, competing to see who can clear all 60 waves the fastest. Extreme: The same as competitive, except all players start on 1 life. The next wave starts immediately once the wave is cleared. Classic Game Modes #2: Difficulty Very Easy: Creeps start with 50% HP with 10% damage reduction. Easy: Creeps start with 62.5% HP with 20% damage reduction. Normal: Creeps start with 70% HP with 30% damage reduction. Hard: Creeps start with 87.5% HP with 40% damage reduction. Very Hard: Creeps start with 100% HP with 50% damage reduction. Game Modes #3: Random All pick: You choose whether to spend your vespene on elementals/extra supply. All random: The game randoms a elemental/extra supply independently for each player. It need not be the same for all players. Same random: The game randoms the same elemental/extra supply for all players. Classic Game Modes #4: Game length Normal: You start at level 1 with 70 minerals. Short: You start at level 16 with 1000 minerals and 3 gas. All level 1 elementals summoned before wave 16 starts are instantly killed. Extra Short: You start at level 31 with 6000 minerals and 6 gas. All level 1 and 2 elementals summoned before wave 31 starts are instantly killed. Classic Game Modes #5: Wave order Normal: Play the standard wave order Chaos: The wave order is shuffled except levels 1-5 and 60.

the replay itself is single player. but you'll be competing against the others for fastest time, lowest leaks, most fruit killed and highest networth. and yes, it is pick.

probably either main site or forum strategy guides (main guide is taken down while it is being re-written for sc2)..
