i miss having my quakers at 3 =( Now it's almost like I can ONLY build them at 5 (well, there is 1 too, but...). i think i'll live though. maybe. iono, i'm not really fond of the 500 range thing at all. voodoo placement is also really restrictive now...
-
autocast on polar seems much better though...? i mean actually not autocast--the ability is tied to the attack now, isn't it?
-
i know your goal is to make more "racing" oriented builds viable in the ronald round, but keep in mind that some "slow" builds are actually worse off as is (correct me if i'm wrong, my theorycraft might be off). Assuming a constant stream of ronalds, builds that rely on long-range towers (gunpowder, i'm looking at you) are worse off, since the long range is no longer an advantage. A build that is instead based on quaker towers will still always be firing (since there is a constant stream of ronalds) and the dps would be much higher. just make sure you take it in to consideration.

really hard to choose...in terms of just plain towers, prolly earth towers--amped earth towers are such a staple! (well at least in 4.0PB...) i picked fire, but i'm not sure. i'd have to list all the towers out to check. fire is part of blacksmith though, and blacksmith is oodles of fun to chainmorph to other stuff =P

enchantment has AoE damage now--might make it a -little- more useful at least. remains to be seen whether the buff works enough...
-
well by "a-click" i meant "press a, then click", not "click a". =P
-
yeah, a-clicking your own towers is possible in some weird situations.
-
so lets address this: something needs to be changed regarding magic + blacksmith... tooltip tells me: the bonus damage from the ability does NOT stack with fire up. however when I look at the +[green numbers] it appears that fire up DOES stack with the ability damage. thus a sorcery tower with base damage of 9k is not getting +18k but it is getting +37k damage, according to the green numbers. The cooldown IS reduced when fire up is applied (mana only goes down to 30 and not down to 0).

...aaaand the new beta is released

i'm in.

IMHO, flame seems to be underperforming now as well...
-
chaotic = fun maybe not if you're with some random person who doesn't know the slightest thing about what he's doing though, xD

regeneration favors builds that have concentrated DPS sources, such as a few pures, much more than builds that use masses of not-quite-as-powerful towers. Also makes ST/longrange towers more effective somewhat. reincarnation is basically giving them more life but also making them a tiny bit slower. "avatar" is kind of vague. if you're saying it dispells all buffs, then again that changes the balance of things, probably even more drastically than the above two.

Periodic Tower of the Elements cost 20502 damage 100000 speed 1 range 900 aoe 300 needs 1 of each element to build, and also takes up one pure essence.

would be great if it's feasible to implement. details may be tricky but any type of team game is great, as there is more direct interaction than just "I wonder how everyone's doing..oh look, jolin finally leaked 1..." =P
-
but that still doesn't change it for single player =(
-
so basically, "build towers and get elements" ...hey, that's what I do every game!
-
it just happens to be really good because you have D E F covered which makes for a nice balanced defense. just like jolin's WLWLWL... build was good because the towers complemented each other nicely. in 4.0PB it was so much harder to beat the game without AoE slow...but now we can win without any debuffs at all!~
-
yes, but the 3 element build gets access to additional interest. Considering that tier 3 duals are really strong, and that support triples aren't as good as they were in 4.0PB... what i'm saying is, it doesn't really matter if you have 6 duals and 4 triples if half of them become obsolete halfway through the game i'll try some more different builds, but this one was remarkably easier to finish than anything else i've tried so far. (i'm going to try and stay away from trickery abuse though =P)
-
so i know we all thought about balance in terms of 4/5/6 element builds, but uhmmm... what about 3 element builds? (keep in mind i'm hardly ever able to finish any games with other builds) 9-30-08_DDRKirby(ISQ)_b14b_VHAP_598rona.w3g

so probably would be good against mech then, with that idea?

[On-Going] DDRKirby(ISQ) - General impressions
DDRKirby(ISQ) replied to DDRKirby(ISQ)'s topic in WarCraft 3
i wasn't feeling quite ready to showcase it, otherwise i would have bumped it myself. i haven't actually played too many pick games--maybe like 2 or 3 =P. Maybe more in the future... -
hahaha... yeah, you could say "oh, just hotkey the building", but I'm not sure that's something we want all the newbies to have to do (after all, super weapons mode mostly would appeal to those kinds of players who don't want to have to deal with anything complicated, just lots of explosions and flaming screens)... (on a side note, the first time i tried this post I clicked on "edit" instead of "quote" and overwrote kaini's post. )

not tested extensively, but pretty simple to test/replicate. Given two (or more) trickery towers, you can have one of them clone some tower. The second trickery is unable to clone the original, but it can still clone the clone. I'm pretty sure this is unintended ...
