Yes, ofcourse the one with most lives will be the target of most spells, that way the mode becomes even more noob friendly allowing beginners to spam spells but not be a target of many. This also encourages players who have learnt the game, to give up suuperweapons and go over to "real" eletd and yes, as hole sais, some cool effects on those stuff, like the molotov cocktail idea could drop some of these "infernal stones" on the ground, that will be the ones to set tracks on fire. and not as it currently is with an invisible man ehcnahnting the creeps with speed. and the composite elemental would not just spawn, he would spawn to a cool effect with a threatening sound. perhaps a fearsome giant (lv 18) knight, or something else. And when the sell-spell is launched a ghostly laughing smile over every sold tower, as from, (what's the name of that curse now again? I think that fan of knives lady uses it).

um.. if you use it on a hyperspeed tower like zealout then yes, that might be the same as well, but if you use a t3 trickery(prolly a new name though) on a darkness tower that'd be more alike a t3 blacksmith. So - this one is rather unique imo, at least (by far) enough unique for me, after trying so many trickery variantes that sucked in other ways. I couldn't accept something like an aura shop tower for example which makes random mode soo much easier (regular well and smith aren't geat in random due to sell/rebuild, ie. that this is a "disguised well" is no big deal compared to problems all toehr towers had).

After long thinking and several ideas scraped I've come up with a replacement for trickery that I think should work for all towers and I think (or do I even have a clue?) would neither be too hard to create/code. Then nae of the tower I do not know but the tower will, every 15 seconds(just like smith and well) give a 60second buff to towers that equals 25 50 and 100% dps increase. The concept is dual shot, meaning, every fourth(at tier 1) attack of the buffed tower will be a dual shot. That means, after the tower has done it's fourth attack a bonus projectile will follow about 0,1 seconds after(not exactly at the same time but a little after, so that both arrows/projectiles can be seen and that for example electricity and nova should be able to hear the sounds of the 2 shainlightnings/stomps caused, (they follow their attacks) and not just one big). At tier 2 the buffs will cause towers to do dual shots every other attack, having it's 2nd attack followed by a 3rd attack 0,1 sec just after the 2nd. At tier 3 it would be a dualshot every attack to equal the 100% increase of smith and well. On quaker and tidal and such the additional shot will ofcourse count towards charging up, just like well would to. Electricity and Nova and other towers that follow their attackspeed will stompt/cast lightning twice whendualshooting. The tower will only be able to buff any towers that well and smith are able to buff (imo should be what I call damagetowers) and therefore things like corrosion is Not a problem. I don't know if effect icons are to be imported but I happened to come across one: http://images.wikia.com/gw/images/1/12/Dual_Shot.jpg I do not know wether if the "changed cooldown time for certain attacks" is a possible thing, so I'd like to hear from ya mapmakers and programmers out there what you think or if there's a better way to make the tower than how I describe it.

I'd also like to add that I think the fog of war is just stupid(can't even see your own entire map) and the reveal spell should be removed. maybe the money stealing one too now that ya can see who is not overbuilding. In this post I will post all new spells that I come up with, this post will probably be edited several times. Feel free to sugguest any spells/effects. 1. Toss a giant Ronald (or launch a nuclear missile if you want something more "realistic" and less alike purple sheep and bikini ghouls) to deal 1000(or other amount depending on recharge time) damage to enemy towers within a 300(or other amount) aoe. 2. Launch a Molotov Cocktail(just to make it a little bit more flashy/noob bait, but not to ruin the map) to Set target opponents tracks on fire, enchanting it's creeps walking on it with bruning speed, causing them to run x% faster and losing 0,x%health per second(the health degen might not be nessesary, just to make it a bit more realistic). Lasts 20 Seconds(just a sugguested time). 3. Misguiding spies/counterfeit counsellor (or called something else if better sugguested). send out a spy who makes target opponents tower automaticly sell imidiately. Also visits 4 more towers before disguise wears off. Now your opponent must hurry to rebuild them! (this one needs a better text but the concept is to force an oponent to rebuild his towers. A different number than 5 towers could also be used, and towers are selected with a chainlightning effect from the first selected tower. the former owner of the towers gets all his money back even on pick mode). 4. Summon composite elemental. This spell should cost alot of mana. Summon one composite elemental in each of your opponents' mazes who will steal(perhaps even giving them to the summoner of the elemental) 3 lives for each time he makes it through there mazes until he gets killed. (this one must not be so strong/easy to summon to make competitive mode a big summon Comp Ele War. Perhaps only summoning at target enemys maze, and not everyone's.) Sounds interesting? please drop by a comment! I'm hoping this mode-change could make it useful and a good beginner-bait. To add something more fun before they have learnt how brilliant the map actually is. Etd is great, has balance replayability and alot of stuff, but "Noob bait" I consider to be one of the few weaker parts of etd, hoping if this would become popular to be a nice way to solve that.

I'm sugguesting to change the name of the current mode "Competitive Mode" into "Super Weapons". Both to make people better understand this mode, and because I think this mode would be rather "noob-popular" or "common in public games" if they just knew it existed. If this is what noobs find fun, then it might lead etd to a great success, cause if they find it more fun, they play it more, and if they learn it, some of them might realize what a brilliant map it actually is, and try other modes after it. Also We'd have to make some "cooler" and "more fun" spells, that we might aswell change name to into "superweapons" if we want. I'm not sugguesting it to be able to toss an upside down purple sheep on your opponent to destroy all the players towers within a 250 aoe, but I am sugguesting something random public players would (most of them) find fun, and it should still be balanced ofc (aka not destroy all towers within that aoe, perhaps deal 200dmg to each or something). Neither do I want any upsidedown flying purple kamikaze sheeps in the map.. perhaps someother big bomb of a more ... acceptable type? More cool effects to this mode ,rather than an invisible guy showing up granting armor, that most won't even notice, all they notice is "crap, I'm schooled, I dunno what I did wrong.. this map sucks". But if they can launch a big molotov coctail on someone elses map that puts all theyr tracks on fire, granting the creeps burning speed, now that's more alike super weapons. I need to know what ye others think of this, remember, that you don't have to like using this idea yourself, but something to improve reputation of etd, and make ppl play it more/learn the map. This mode could be a real success and even though the great thing it does is to make it more Competitive, the name is too far-fetched for most to dare trying (not only cause they're stupid, but cause they have 5 sec to read and think So?? what do you say, bigger bombs and more fire, but no purple sheeps or as cisz say it, "bikini ghouls"

yeah, I like it with nova or quaker, to not mention vapor, or freezing (all in random mode) I use troots at 4 and 6 and 2 more triples if i have roots often on rnd

Yeah, what etd has is balance(hoping to get build balance increased and some more towers needing it) random/chaos(no game is like the other, so, don't follow a lvl by lvl organized plan doing the same thing every game) interest(now there's a big differance between noob and pro except for knowing which towers and where to build. You can always become a better player by learning to handle interest better) fastest-player-sets-the-speed(the competitive part of etd. some can live without it, and even playing in singleplayer etd is by far the best td, just ask kirby I love racing btw, it's a nice sstrategy to crusch your opponents when they least expect it (and punish someone trying to farm interest when they are not prepared to defend, now it becomes an even more strategic/competitive game) Noob friendly modes: We do have both easy modes and we do have a mode that I guess most noobs would like very much. It's called competitive mode and that's the main reason ppl don't use it. "competitive mode? sounds weird, better not try it, there'd still be too many modes". Better name it Super Weapons(SW) and people will be able to guess what this mode means, and try it, and actually learn to use it if they like it. The only sad thing is that us pros, who usually don't like this mode I guess will not be able to join most regular games (although we never could, as everyone picks too easy difficulties. But it's more important that all the noobs can have fun, play it more, (and get a chance to learn too). I just got to think of this now and I think it's a very important point that can help etd to a greater success with random public players. (random public players of a low skill level is what I also meant before, when I said "noobs")

I'd say it's the same bad when you put undead before the elemental, aka, lvl 30. Espesially as when on random and split dificulty, I have to go slow with aoe on that level, in most cases but when a VE player finishes the level The elemental is summoned right when he is done with his lvl (bosses have no "penalty timer" for low difficulties". and, yay, a whole lvl of undead incoming, and 10 feet behind the tier 2 ele is walking

well, poison is one of the duals beeing a bit too weak, and muck is one of the suporters which's damage is a bit too strong. Ontop of that the build balance is aiming to make duals more worth to use, ain't it? Currently Muck can have higher damage output than a random damage triple, say drowning or hail(which are both also 2pass and don't vary in their avarage damage depending on placement or anything). I'm a bit tired when writing this, but I think I'm right in some of the points I bring up

heh, ye, gg, I will watch yours too, as soon as I get time, but I'm going to gothenburg now, though only for a day, and yes, I'd say you're one of the best around here in singleplayer. and that fastest game that'd also include a good net/ron and no leak could actually happen I think, if my game 16 is done perfectly. Although I never checked it again after doing it, so I don't know the time, and it'd be lower without leak(but less interest) too. All I know is that I have like 400k and I think I still have a lower time than all the replays that were sent in. (and yes, you've got all current ronald records under 13ests current conditions, under the older, cisz has hunted most ronalds Also, I was planning to beat all the new records but I'm just not patient enough, I give everything 2 tries, then it's boring, so I quit. Draft was exception cause I couldn't accept a loss ofcourse I have the ronald masterplans done allready for pick, but unfortunatelly I'd never use em, just like the old speed recrod that I claimed I would be. Cisz quote "replay or it didn't happen" fits in most cases ) Although as I see it, eletd is a competitive game, and building quick isn't always enough for that:p Why don't you learn it? Can't play online? Try challanging holepercent if you do and can play online

hehe, ya, and my no leak game was, except the leak, rather bad overall, so I put it the same way, "damn the leak on my other tries" and "damn the suckyness of this try" hehe:p I could finish it faster on other games (even counting the time it takes to leak o_O) Hehe, I wa aiming for a fast game as possible, with a high net/Ron too, no leak.. um that doesn't sound like only my startegy, anyhow, the speed net and ronald sort of failed:p although I'm surpriced I got so much more ronald on a lower net. Yeah, while lv 1-10 both gives very little gold (okok, all gold will give gold out of it aka, the rich gets richer, but still I thougth this had a smaller differance, aka, not worth the time it takes. Ontop of that lv 1-10 doesn't have $$. As soon as $$ were awarded, I started farming interest. I wasnted to spend some time with that, because I thought that if I would use the most effective levels to spend my time farming interest that would give enough gold to SPEED Through from perhaps lvl 40/45 and on. So I decided I should farm from 10-25 and use one Zealout at location 3 (most cash unspent and slowest possible zealout placemnt, you're right, much can go at a slower placement, maybe the muck at 6 I use should've been my first tower, but then again No, Cause I sort of need 2 triples for lvl 29 and 30(and 2 mucks are not in the build yet but 2 zealouts are needed for lv 32), (unless mass cannons/arrows ontop of one muck and magic work, that might be to be tested) hm, if I watch your replay I might see what I just meantioned muck+temporary huh? for an even slower placement? else there's no reason in the temporary placement, they make so MUCH less dpspg that even though you do sell and rebuild them that shouldn't work out well unless what you're aiming for is a placement as slow as possible as these levels are the ones you have your best chance to farm interest Yeah, that wasn't a major problem, the major problem was that I had to overbuild and reach a pathetic networth(also due to really sucky interest farmng lv 10-25) that wouldn't allow on my relocation to area 7 around lv 45 Yeah, I had around 25% of my defense to darkness damage when there was a water wave in play, that's how it should be with 2 damage elements. Although it doesn't matter how much fire I have until water actually arrives;) and when Pure water came Water was no longer a problem ofcourse. I just realized how dumb I was to overbuild on 60 yes Networth is better unbuilt. But in the other hand I needed a good time too;) Thanks Yes, It was rather safe tactics, ofcourse a leak could occur in early game, and the biggest problem was not farming interest good enough early game. The muck and corrosion a bit higher, hm, perhaps. Don't remember exactly right now but I know it should be as high as it doesn't chose targets further away than the damage towers and the effects should not end before creeps reach the damage towers. Additional muck and corrosion at 2 were used to extend the times throughout area 3, 2 and 1 and also to put the effects on the 2nd pass You're right, I should've sold the zealouts and upgraded some to fanatic, that should make +/-0 but force forges to target better. um, Why I sold some forges I do not exactly remember. I think I wanted to finish the game faster, as the current buffs would stay on anyway x) Looking forward to watch your replay soon Kirby During my comments I talk alot about "I farmed too little interest during 10 and 25" and I should've relocated and speeded by lvl 45 to reach a better time, net and ronald (the net was not due to the reloc ofc:p, but due to the plan to reloc) What I mean is featured in around my 12th (althoguh it's named 16th lol, I didn't really keep track) try, where I do relocate to area 7 somewhere around 45. I was aiming for this in the no leak too, but I think it was cause I farmed too bad that I got the shitty networth. I think the time spent to get the better networth is worth, because it's given back between lv 45 and 60. I'm attaching my 12th try here: GG Draft attempt 16.w3g

(or everyone's a winner for thus who wanna see it that way ) puh, was a bit scary when you(kirby) had posted your replay I didn't dl it but saw the scory, and knew we'd be tied if none of the other players would mess things up, perhaps someone on faster time thatn both us, and I would win, or a spee in the middle of us, and you would win luckily I fell asleep so I didn't need to worry you did well in gaining more interest and having alower time, grats on that, but I could hold the leak and hold more ronalds even though lower net I saw you had a different build order, but mine fitted me perfectly so I guess our builds are pretty much equaly And I see you used focused earth tower, I played around with that idea too, but found it better to have only 2 elements of damage (until water comes in play) Earth would take up too much space for it's low dps (due to it's low cost). But well, ya, I guess a few of them would be as good on lv 48.

Quick question. If 1 of the scores is equal, what happens? Lets say player A and B doesn't Leak. Player C and D leaks 10 each and lvl E leaks 30. Does player A and B share 1st place, and both get score 1, and C and D share 3rd place and both get score "4" and E get 5th place with a score "7"?

also, not use only one type of damagetower is a good trick, cause if you use only quaker for damage, that would result in a weakness against nature waves. try splitting up your damage on 33% quaker 33% zealout and 33% muck:)

We play multiplayer on Battle.net, when you launch the game there is a button for that, (next to the buttons for singleplayer and such) You need a legit copy of the game to do that, and there is only real B-net servers for US Europe and Asia afaik. Some do also play on PvPGN Servers. I myself play on Northrend (the European (legit) Battle.net server
