  1. I skimmed your post and here is my response... -The food bug has been resolved for 17b. -I'm changing the ratio to 1/2 for all levels, that means two clones per one real. The numbers add up as follows: Clone is a 100% buff to damage for the duration it is out. Level 1 is two clones for 15 seconds each, is 100% damage buff for 30 seconds, out of 120 seconds this is 1/4 ratio and thus 25% boost. Level 2 and 3 follow the same logic and end up with 50% and 200%. -The abuse you mentioned is a byproduct of making it such that clones don't cost food. It is not able to be countered with the solution you proposed, because I don't know how to code the solution you propose. Also, if you sell a Well/Blacksmith tower the buffs do NOT disappear...

  3. I'm happy to present to you guys the seventeenth beta. More bug fixes, balance changes, and some cosmetic improvements. In the absence of serious problems, Beta 18 will be the equivalent of 4.0 RC (release candidate). The reason I proposed my change is as follows: Poison = D = AoE for Darkness is unique, fixes Ice/Poison redundancy Magic = F = Single for Fire is unique Kindle = W = Redundant with Tornado, but not as bad because dual/triple instead of dual/dual More importantly is whether the builds will continue to be balanced regarding damage types.

  12. MrChak left 2.0 unprotected, as he was done with the game. I believe he hoped others would take over or learn from the game. In that regards I don't think he would have viewed 2.5 as a fake or bad version. 2.5 was around for quite awhile, and I played it from time to time. Far as I know there weren't any cheats, and the guy who did it was simply trying to improve the game (and did a good job). Now it isn't "official" but it is definitely acceptable. My stance is different in some regards. As long as I (and thus us) are actively working on the map, I want it to be the "official" map. I'm honored (and you guys should be too) that MrChak has entrusted us to carry on the torch. There are plenty of good reasons to protect the map, and if someone wants to legitimately learn they should come here. So regarding that I would consider any hacked or deprotected version (3.0 and beyond) to be "unofficial" of course, but furthermore fake and therefore something to look down upon. Like MrChak though, should I cease to develop Element TD (such as say SC2...) I shall concurrently release the open-source along with my final version.

    Glad to hear you're back. I too would be interested in having a meeting soon. If we take care of this by Saturday, then I'll have time to work on the changes and release B17 around Sunday. Today isn't such a great day, but tomorrow I will be free from 18:00-22:00. Friday I will be free 0:00-4:00. Saturday I'll be free 18:00-0:00.

  19. I should be able to make it so that when a tower is cloned apply its buffs to clone. Other bug(s) should be fixed... Would need to test what exact value would mimic real autocast. It is weird that real autocast has larger AoE even though same value...perhaps use -range to get a good estimate.

    Bump! Let's make this happen. I'd like to have a meeting with all active leaders regarding the state of balance. Can we shoot to make this happen within a week, preferably sooner? You may have noticed the news update on the site. I am aiming for a November release for 4.0. I feel enough time has passed, too much time in fact. The release does not have to be perfect, we can do 4.1, 4.2...etc. much more rapidly. I don't think we are that far off to be honest. There are some balance issues to resolve, a couple of outstanding bugs, and a few cosmetic issues. With good and steady input regarding these end stage items I think a mid November release is reasonable. We are here again, the "big push" so to speak. Hopefully this shall be our last one, until SC2...
