Hey Guys, I know there is already a Tower Ability Wishlist thread in the suggestions forum. However, we currently have 8 abilities that are "approved," and 17 towers that need something new. Thus, I am making this post to shine light on this fact. More than anything else right now, I am looking for ideas for new abilities/towers. Once this crucial step is completed, everything else will be able to fall into place much easier. I know I've said this before, but don't limit your imagination. JASS coding can do a lot of things, so it is better to suggest then to not. It doesn't matter where you get your ideas or inspiration from (DotA suggestions forum, other custom maps, other games etc.), so don't be limited in that respect. Feel free to post here or in the Tower Ability Wishlist thread. Thanks

Yes, it is similar to Ice. But, I think the stackable feature makes it most interesting.

I think idea one would be a great backup plan. I am actually most interested in trying idea three. I was thinking it could work like this: Tower attacks creep, some effect happens at creep that slows in AoE. AoE slow percentage is small, but it stacks. Perhaps 2.5/5.0% slow each attack? Could last five seconds.

Interested in discussing the addition of new content, or the tweaking of old? You can actively support the development of the map, by joining the Dev Team. You don't need knowledge of map making, programming etc. All you need to have is knowledge of the game, and opinions on how to improve it. There are plenty of active topics for you to weigh in on, and of course, you are free to start your own. Go to groups (found in the menu at top), pull down the menu, select Dev Team, and join.

The fact is that he took the time to post here requesting to be on the team. He obviously is at least somewhat serious about it, so I would be happy to add him on. You (and everyone else) should join the development team as well, more people discussing the better.

After reading the post by Cisz about the range balance changes, I decided that this would be a topic worth creating. I will be removing a lot of the long range towers from the game, so the only primary ones left will be Darkness and Light probably. So, I want to discuss the power of the six elements here. How do they rank up against each other, and what can be done to balance that? Earth Fire Water Darkness Light Nature Is that the order of the tower balance? They should definitely be more equal.

Jman5, yes there is. You should have access to Major/Minor changes forum. Also, there will be an announcement for Beta Testing. As for when, I'm hoping to have it out by the end of next week at the very latest.

So, what do you guys think should be the new AoE slow tower?

Roots will probably become Frostbite. Moon will probably become possession tower. Thus, no single target disables will be lost, only improved . When I say become, I mean place won't be lost. The elements might be mixed up, or the ability renamed but the idea will stay.

Basically, you select a target for this tower (can be ground targeted). A stream of stuff (ice, sludge w/e) goes from this tower to the target. This would be channeling. Creeps that get hit by this stream at any point are slowed, and perhaps damaged. Thoughts?

Crypt and Money tower removed from list. Money is a nice addition, just needs nerfage. As for Crypt, I feel there should be at least one insta-death tower in the game.

4 AoE slows? The requirement for the 8 triple dual towers is that they are game making. I don't think Frostbite should replace Ice tower, it should replace roots (one tower I want to redesign). MrChak is right, it never improved the slow, only AoE. I think you are referring to this: I would say: LFN - Nova LWE - Whatever new AoE slow we decide upon FWD - Tornado LFD - Enchant NWD - Acid NDE - Tower with one of the new abilities LFE- Tower with one of the new abilities NWE - Tower with one of the new abilities

When this tower damages a creep, X seconds later that creep will be teleported back to where it was when it got attacked. Code it so that there is a X% chance of it firing. The creep will take damage based on how far it teleports back.

We already have something like it with the Prism towers. This would be the other tower that has some sort of "linking," ability. Is two too many?
