  1. Correct, but if the model you are using for a tower has no "overhead" you won't see any overhead graphics, would you?

  3. Oh, I see. Yes and there are many damage towers that require their skill to work properly, so, or a clone lifespan adjustment or a skill adjustment is required. Btw, the 2 Floor tower real+copy is an awesome idea, I love it. And thx orb3r for feedback on the tower idea:)
  4. This is actually a pretty decent idea for the "trickery issue", I like it. I think that the problems are the skills. Should a copied ice tower freeze? If the answer is yes then, should it de 25% , 50%, 100% of normal?. A) no skill = sucks in most cases 25%, 50%, 100% = you need to create extra skills for each skill being 25% and 50% of normal C) always 100% = imba There should be a way to choose manually a target building and autocast. Making the lifespan of the image equals a ratio of trickeryvalue/imagevalue is imo a good alternative to the copied skill problem w/o need to add new skills but less friendly to combine with Well&Bsmith, still, copied skills are better and easier to ballance. Different from Well&Bsmith that can't affect the same tower more than once, Trickery can. Make it so that ONLY 1 copy of a tower can exist at a time (no 1 periodic element tower +10 copies). If target selecting is trggered you could easily prevent a tower from being targeted by 2 Trickeries.

At the moment I've just found 3 ideas to balance: 1) Increasing the rate at which duals gain side effects from x2 to x3 2) Limiting the capability of towers to stack 3) Making all multielement requiring towers more expensive (+66%) but reducing their cost after owning already one on the field (iex: 1st 166%, 2nd 120% 3rd 80%, 4th 66%, 50% for all remaining). +) Nerfing Periodic Element tower I will edit the post if once more ideas come up.

  8. yep, exactly, 1 for duals, 1 for triples, and about twice the time to vanish. Like I already purposed in a thread for the development team. And as electronX mentioned above, including the highest level of the tower available is a nice addition (Sorcery = Magic 2, ...).
  9. Tower query is meant to be easy and as less complicated as humanly possible including all important information. Honestly, writing down sorcery insted of magic would be hell confusing and give me less information then just Magic lvl2. And I would prefer 2 queries, one for duals and one for triples.
  10. I haven't tried out yet, but if what jolin012 says is right, which i assume, it would be a bad thing. I think the forums should be open to everyone, registered or not, I personally hate it to go to a forum and *meek, can't read the posts because im not a VIP. Its like punching me in the face and saying "We are a crazy loony sect and do not welcome stalkers, join or die". Just my feeling about this issue.
  11. I just go away for 2 weeks and when i come back all has been reworked... lol excellent job by the way. The new outfit looks great. The missing dividers bothered me as well, Long live the dividers.

Some important things you must bear in mind when posting your replays is that: - The one who wants to see the replay needs to have w3c patched to the same level then the original player when he made the replay - The one who wants to see the replay needs to have exactly the same map (including mapname) at exactly the same spot in the same Warcraft folder. So, basically if I post a replay while my EleTD 4.0 PB is in the following folder: Warcraft III / Maps / TD Games / Element TD 4.0 PB, everyone that wants to see my replay needs to create a folder inside maps called "TD Games" which contains the right version of the map. It is therefor crucial that you play EleTD having your map in the Maps / Download folder to avoid other players doing extra hours to see your replay. Yesterday W3c tft has been updated to version 1.21b (or so), which means as soon you enter b-net and uppatch your warcraft, all replays made before of this patch probably won't work anymore. ma23, I don't know if this is of any help to you to solve the problem, but try again keeping your eyes peeled for this details and if the problem persists maybe one of the more experieced players here can help you out. inDe_eD, I'm more like a sweet metaller (damn now that I read it, it sounds gay, nvm), but I think that if something is good music, the kind of that music is the minor issue. I enjoy all kind of music and I agree its a great band.
  13. Just post the replay. and btw, I listen Nightwish too, fantastic relaxig music. I didnt accented it correctly cause my keyboard doesn't has the open accent, just the closed one, I thought that "any" accent would be better then "no" accent, but thanks anyway for pointing this out.

    Slow Towers in 4.0

    What if I tell you that nova slows even shielded creeps? Would still be storm the best aoe slow?

  16. OK, here it goes: Step 1 After the game go immediately out to your desktop or use Alt+Tab (just do it before you play again as only the last replay will be saved. Enter your harddisc and locate the place where you instaled Warcraft; i.ex: C:/Games/Warcraft III then enter Warcraft III/Replay and you'll find an archive called LastReplay.w3g Copy and rename it somewhere else, this is your replay. Step 2 You have to use a datahosting service to upload your archive to a internet server, I use mostly rapidshare. Follow these steps to upload something at rapidshare: Enter http://www.rapidshare.com/ then search for the replay in your harddisk. Then press Upload! Step 3 Now copy the link you get: And paste it into your post in the forum. Et voilá, you're done.

The problem is that poisons attack is pretty random and tends to oversee some creeps that are in its attacking line, poison isnt much weaker then electricity but if you face a mech wave you should sell all your poison towers right away to build something else. Still a good tower to save early some cash if you dont mind to catch a few leaks. My favorite position for poison is the right side of Numpad 4.
  18. inde_ed, have you already tried out playing VE? It's like cheating yourself endless money, it is a damn easy difficulty. You don't need to do anything except saving more then 20% of your net worth as cash and sooner or later you win, leaking a few sometimes, but you win.

    Tower fix

    Hmmm... let me see, W+F+L+N ... hmm Nova, Windstorm, Impulse, Tidal as triples, Well, Electricity and Flame as duals, yeah that build absolutely sucks, Im going to stop playing 4.0 right away. For instance, almost all builds of 4.0 are/will be playable if you know how that is, in 3.0 you can really get screwed up with the wrong elements. Secondly, you don't need all the towers to beat the game. Next point, elementals are now affected by all efects like slow, ..., like normal creeps and their strength depends on the wave they are summoned, almost every build offers you something handy to face them. Not to forget, slow is not the only key to win. And finally, its not like the towers are the only thing that has changed since 3.0, and it is not like puzzling around, its like getting rewarded if you know how to play. Its the oposite of taking all weak towers, buffing them up, and leaving all players without challenges because there is no strategical reason to know how to play. kingselite, don't give up just because slow has been nerfed, take the same build LWFN and try again, specially watch were you post your towers, and maybe you find out a few interesting things, you wont regret, I promise.
  22. I think he is posting a random issue on-topic. And he is btw right, pick is now much harder to play because you need to overbuild on composite waves and can't sell afterwards what you overbuilded. You shouldn't play pick unless you know beforehand the build you want to get and how to face the waves with it, overbuilding with elemental arrows & cannons till wave 40 requires a lot of skill.

    Slow Towers in 4.0

    Actually 4.0 Pb has more slow then 3.0. There are now 4 triples with aoe slow. The point is that now you need to get 2 different lvl2 triples to slow optimum, lvl1 triple aoe slowers (roots, sludge, windstorm, nova) have been nerfed to make it a bit harder to get a build mainly based on slow. Specially now that we have 4 slowers, if we buff the lvl1 triple slowpower almost all builds would become slow-based, harming the diversity of the game. That's all. Get lvl2 triples. Btw, the new ice age is a damage amplifier, not a slower. And massing is a waste of money, post smart your slowers. Nova in example works excellent at Numpad Loc 5, if you get windstorm as well, post it on 6 and try to upgrade any of these, you should be fine then. Roots and sludge are meant to work on the same spot like damage amplifiers, post them just before the creeps enter your main damage area, close to corners are good spots.
  24. This is a open threat do discuss about anything related to the 4.0 Public beta which is not directly related to bugs or imbalaces. Basically all around the effects of the new skills, the tower concepts, models, game concept, modes, ect. Is there something bothering you specially on the Public beta? Is anything in the map beyond all logic and breaks the concept? Do you think something is amazing enough to be worth mentioning here? Post!
  25. Shouldn't tidals splash attack be water damage !?! It falls under the "No more armor ignoring spell damage" -rule.
