  1. Somebody once purposed that elemental arrow/cannon-towers should be able to change directly to a different element basic tower. So basically a fire cannon tower can be upgraded to a water cannon with no cost (insted of selling and rebuilding the whole thing, just switching). I'm just reviving that topic because I think that element switching would be a nice improvement. Sure, to micro you have to sell the tower anyways, but in some situations it would be nice (specially if you missclick building the tower).

    [Beta 7] Armor Tables

    Heh, I already was wondering during 2 games why i was leaking all the time because I slightly underbuilded repeatedly. Well, I know for certain that now I have less money for endgame, so I think it compensates a bit the advantage of lower difficulties in terms of money management. I don't even want to think how much harder VH is now after this change. Nvm, need more testing to say more. Kara, would it be possible for you to release a second beta 7 just with the multiplier changed to 0.07 to compare?

    electricity towers

    It has becomed much better now on beta7, but i expected it to have still more nerf. Is electricity really being now affected by the armor strenth this means, general damage reduction % which depends on difficulty (not armor type, armor strength). Edit: Just had a game with poison tower and it is really nerfed now, you can't just mass them after midgame without losing more money then going for triples, good work.

I just had a random game norm. diff. with mass hydro lvl1. 3 things: 1) Why is the damage still earth when the graphics of the attck show clearly that it is water damage? 2) I think the slowing potential of this tower is far to high, would it be possible to make the creeps jump up and fall down faster? I got tons of cash thanks to the slowing capacity of the tower, even if i was not microing at all over wave 25. Too much imo. The tower should be nerfed a bit in that area. Even on lategame they were my main slowing tower still at lvl1 (didn't got earth 2) . 3) Didn't got the old hydro bug, will test further. Got a replay.

    [Beta 7] Hail Tower

    Same here, hail is a really interesting tower now, but it would be much better if it would be possible to deactivate autocasting in those situations the skill would be wasted.

    Well it's not that simple. If we would be talking about double creep hp and double bounty it would be easier to balance. But double creeps would need less than double towers to be killed, specially using slow 2-passes, as well the game gets longer, so more interest ticks. To example compare the old 3.0 VE mode and the new 4.0b6-7 VE mode. You will realize that increasing the spawns almost changes completely the game. About the "timer on leak"-thing, the problem is that some people liked it, but many hated it, so its better to remove anything that could mess up the fun in the game, a small sacrifice for a greater good i suppose. (Damn i loved it too )
  7. Sometimes it just confuses me seeing all over the screen damage numbers like it would be the last day on earth. I think it would be handy to have a chatcode to deactivate all damage displays from roots tower, voodoo, ect... I dont now if its just visible to us for testing purposes, but if the damage displayed stays for the final public beta it definately needs a turn off system. Sometimes there are just too many numbers. And if its not possible to do it per player, make it an host available command.

    same goes for poison and rage. But the game would become somehow lame if we remove all good damage dual towers so imo it's something we have to accept, at least it is pretty rare to get on random both elements to lvl3 to build the 3rd tier and the harder waves will be pretty though just with lvl1 electricity even massing. Its just a good way to pharm a bit midgame.

I think it would be much less confusing if the damage type: light damage, darkness damage, ..., composite damage (always deals 100% damage regardless armor type, but affected by armor strenght), spell damage (always deals 100% damage regardless armor type and strength), would be displayed on the description of the spells. It is imo logical to think that all spells deal direct damage/spell damage and ignore armor type and armor strenght. It is a way to let the player know that the armor does matter on the spells. As well I would like to make a clear difference between composite damage (that is affected by the armor value and thus by difficulty) and spell damage/direct damage (that ignores armor type and armor value, thus is not affected by difficulty).

Look at the beta testing section. You can pm (personal message) everybody just clicking the button at the bottom of any of his posts. If you are looking for hints how to play 4.0b6, try to find them out on your own, thats what makes fun
  12. Nah, the problem is that midgame is harder but getting closer to endgame it gets too easy as you have money excess. If you get to wave 50 you're alost done. I agree with sancdars post. Maybe reducing a bit interest but make interest picks be more worth is a good way to balance the actual situation. As well, be careful on making it harder, you fast playing guys may don't realize but as an average player i must say that i have real trouble sometimes with the classified and composite waves, it is hard.
  13. I dislike the actual Gunpowder and Trickery, i think they don't fit 100% and that Trickery should become some kind of tower buffer, maybe range. I dislike Voodoo and Jinx, they dont fit. I am not convinced of the new Oblivion, Hail, Gold and Tidal, i have my problems to implement them into strong builds (and need further testing on them), maybe zeal as well. I like the new classifications (Ud & Mch) even if fast needs a small tweak, I like the new resistence value for composite waves and I like the fact that now leaking sets the timer (even if it needs to be nerfed a bit on harder difficulties, maybe +1/+2/+3/+4/+5 seconds to timer). All this has made the game much more active then it was before. I like the huge diversity that is in the current beta, nearly 100% perfect for duals and singles. I like the new values for money and spawns on lower difficulties. The game is eons closer now to the etd i always wished to play, and i like most of all other details not written in this post.
  14. Then ice should become a triple, i think duals should be simple, and a multishot in duals sounds too strong (or we half the amount of slow, making again the tower less worth to build). Duals have 1 effect, thats the idea. Ice is ok considering the low cost to build, you can get 3 duals for the price of a possible triple with multishot 3 targets, if i would have to choose i would go for 3 separated towers. So, no need imho for buffing ice anyhow. On topic, i consider more important that towers make sense with their elements then to have a 100% equitative builds design, the builds are important for balancing, but not important for the main design. 99% of the towers have to fit with their elements, on triples it is possible to design using builds, as there are more possibilities to your imagination to fill the holes in the concepts, leave the duals alone with selected-by-build ideas.
  15. The actual beef golem (early known as flesh golem) gets big enough to blind you through the whole game area you just see his gigantic feets. It's pretty unplayable atm, which is the problem to correct this?
  16. You can kill any elemental with 3 hydro towers and some very small damage support. Its the ultimate elemental weapon, and i dont like it. I think that the skills of alternative slowers (hydro's splash and jinx's timewarp), should NOT affect elementals, if this can be coded somehow withou redesigning the whole attacks, i would be grateful. Does anybody feel the same way? Comment!
  17. Actually, the way polar attacks is a bit weird, sometimes it shoots so high that it looks like it is targeting the camera, and some others it shoots out of your playing area (without hitting the ground). It looks a bit weird, thats all.

Played 3 games solo, normal diff., random: Game 1: Elements F-W-i$-D-E-D-W-L-D-E-p+ Result: Beated Lives on wave 20/50/60: 48-37-37Details Game 1: Get for Acid, Muck and later for poison and Blacksmith.GG. Game 2: Elements D-N-E-F-N-W-E-i$-W-F-D Result: Beated Lives on wave 20/50/60: 46-26-24 Details Game 2: Damn hard on midgame, no good damagers, leaked horribly on Mechanical waves. Game 3: Elements L-N-E-W-L-W-N-E-W-D-L Result: Beated Lives on wave 20/50/60: 49-47-47 Details Game 3: Get for Rage, then massed hydro and single earth. Later Polar + Enchantment, surprisingly gg. For now, I feel that the difficulties have becomed (3.0 --> 4.0b6): Very easy --> much easierEasy --> slightly easier (not compared yet) Normal --> slightly harder Hard --> bit harder (not compared yet) Very Hard --> harder And more in general evaluations (3.0 --> 4.0b6): The game has becomed considerably harder midgame, on all difficulties.The game has becomed tons easier endgame, specially on easier difficulties. The game is more diverse than before, more useful builds, more tower interactions. The game is a lot more active, thus, challenging; sponsored by undead, mechanical and composite waves and mister start counter on leak. It requires now more skill not to overbuild on certain waves, it is riskier to make profit, micro is more important then before. Splash plays now a lesser dominant role. I forsee that the average player will have trouble on Ud, Mc and Cmp waves, it is considerably harder now to get no-leak games, and most leaks are low number leaks (1-4 creeps). Alltogether, the game is imo much better now. These are just my first impressions so, feel free to criticize, I will edit the post later on with more results.
  19. Death is actually a quite interesting tower, sometimes it hits creeps far out of range catching leaks, and some other times it leaves a bunch of 10 mechanical mobs without a scratch. I'm actually just using this tower in pairs, then it works fine, and if you get roots, gg. It combines excellent with magic to catch unexpected leaks and some other duals. I like it, it's not exactly a weak tower as well, much more a bit chaotic, but I agree that it's pretty useless on fast waves or playing extreme.

    I love the actual impulse tower, so i'll negative to loose it. I agree to cisz, what exactly did you liked on Rainbow, I haven't missed that tower even once. I think u r a bit pissed off with the fact that elemental damage now deals less damage on composite waves am I right?
  21. Well I have been testing around with the new difficulty settings on beta 6 and today I wanted to find out how easy VE is (hehe ). I played without microing (no sells except my arrows and cannons at level 25+), without catching leaks, and on top i didnt got nor earth nor fire on random, so no slows except 2 ice towers most of the time (at lvl 55 got earth and builded 4 roots). After boring myself up during 60 waves, i ended up with 60000 unspend gold and 46 lives, even after building 2 pures. Don't have a replay . All together, there is no reason in this world if you don't play like a dumbass not to make it through the game on VE, it is damn easy with the actual settings. (My feeling is that even if i would have cheated 100000 gold it wouldnt have made any difference at all)

    I agree to 1mpulse, if activision is bitching around with harmonix's players they should solve it on the courts and if appliable pay. You should calm down a bit. I don't suspect as well that you would care if it wouldn't affect you directly. If you feel anyway that you need to do something about, go to the court yourself against activision or (better option) mail harmonix about your concerns and ask them for permision to collect signs from other players, they will tell you if it is of help or not. I feel like you that big companies executives could need a helping hand on sportive behaviour, but thats why laws exist and even the smallest citizen has got resources to fight for his rights. I just condemn people as well pushing others to protect his own rights, so going on barrikades and stop buying activision products is imho a wrong idea and will not benefit anyone. Mail harmonix and collect signs, its the best way. Besides, i dont play guitarr hero but if harmonix needs my sign to protect the rights of its players i will help you out signing.

There is a lot of people that thinks that microing for interest is an ilegitime way to play ETD, and then there are those who arent skilled enough to do microing and complain about others who do. It should be a minor but nice change to include in the "Basics" on F9, just after mentioning Interest and Selling price, that it is possible and legitime to sell towers to increase the interest earnings and rebuild them again. Just a small suggestion.
