    agree.. then the 2nd one should have more 'green' in it. the seed is not really obvious to mean nature. but nice one to all the artists...
  2. something like that tower from gem td (forgot the name) ? a tower with a % chance to cast different things?? it's a bit too random for most player's liking... random effects are not really fun. it becomes one of those towers that you don't really like but want/need to have...
  3. single target armour reduction... although that is already in the game...
  4. finally an organised set of hotkeys... hope the towers would be named suitably...
  5. my fav after element td would be burb (still trying to find a combination to beat expert reliably for 2 players) ... used to play gem for a while but it got boring once you successfully beat the game >2 times. have to agree that green td is quite chaotic and imbalanced... (tried the green circle TD?)
  6. in 3.0 circle system if you finished the vote early you could start building straight away while waiting for the timers to run... you can't build when you are picking the options in the dialog boxes... 25 seconds would be ok...
  7. why bother to bring up an old thread for a guide which i have almost put away?? (cos i'm working on my other challenge now...) well... if you still want the guide, i'll try to get it done if you really want it.. my playtest version still requires some improvements before i post it... in the meantime you can try experimenting with the basics in the opening post... i wouldn't be able to do this one now as i'm in the midst of major school exams.

  9. if the dialog boxes are going to be timed, there's not much difference in clicking or using hotkey. after all you still have to wait for the counter to run down... 7.5/5 seconds feels a bit too long for me... 27.5 seconds of voting... host pick is usually done in 10 seconds (at least when i host pick)... although the host probably knows what he wants and is able to pick fast. and if a player doesn't pick what would the defaults be? especially for difficulty... VH?
  10. the only time that the colour really matters is when the host wants to kick someone or for games with host kick commands... i've even had players calling player 3 light blue/turquoise(or whatever way that's spelt) ...
  11. i used to have some problems controlling the acolytes. not making sure the CoP was highlighted would result in the acolyte above the circle but not going into it. another old problem was if you accidentally clicked the option for the next vote (eg hero/race mode options), your difficulty would be the CoP closest to the acolyte. i would prefer everyone votes the same way as the host pick.

  13. the game is already long enough as it is. most games are average 1 hr online. Gem TD had a good concept but it took way too long to finish. close to 2 hrs some games to win. which is why i'm back to eleTD. there is even a discussion on a short mode where there are only 30 levels.

  15. i just realised that lvl 30 onwards require the addition of much more towers than earlier waves. i underbuilt and lost my last game at 41... my last game had me building arrows at the long pass(ie VII, V, I, II) and cannons at the 2-pass locations. most rebuilding were at the long pass positions. and that's a lot of micro, selling and rebuilding in that replay. can't do it well so i usually use supers. usually don't sell in middle of waves... ok.. i think i'll create a new thread to discuss this challenge and leave this thread to discuss challenge SUGGESTIONS. continue this challenge's discussion on http://www.eletd.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=3140#3140
  16. give the player the option to autocast. something like enchantment tower. or a short range and a 3 sec delay before casting. that way, if there is only one creep, it would be out of the range quickly and the tower would not cast. the tower would only cast when there are targets in range 3 sec later after the first creep passes.
  17. the first point means that all difficulty will have 30 creeps but different starting hp and giving the same gold per creep kill? many players have the impression that ve is easier but it's not necessarily so because of less gold. most other tds difficulty play with the hp/armour types.. the second point. it relates more to imbalanced builds (lwfd for instance) rather than the hp. the 'game-winning towers' ie storm,acid, etc... increase in creep hp would have to be balanced with the towers. it should not force players to build certain towers to handle the waves. this seems so with the last few waves. that how many builds would be able to deal that amount of damage (900k) ? maybe as posted in the other thread that we just have 4 difficulties. easy,normal,hard,extreme or something like that. this also links back to the first point about number of creeps spawned. ok for the last point. although that the problem hasn't really been clearly defined and determined whether is it really a problem. but i do suppose it would help counter some racing in mixed diff games.
  18. early testing showed that i could get through with less towers using cannons compared to arrows... i picked elements on that as well as to handle the healing levels... (my first plan started with the elements straight away, starting with water at lvl 5 ) (and i haven't watched your replay...while improving my own game... i'll watch it after i clear lvl 40...)
  19. what about the order of the elements? and the difference between using arrows only or cannons only or combination of both and to what extent....

  21. i would think a switch would work better... like the player types -????? when he wants the game to be added to the ladder. prompts might take too long and troublesome when one just wants a quick game. this would be for the pros and competitve players among us mostly...
  22. ok.. for the arrows and cannons challenge.. it should be possible to reach 40 after the build is optimised. i died at 38 playing a very rough plan (with bad micro/selling and rebuilding to match dmg)... the eletd ladder would be a very good addition...
  23. balance in towers and strategy... any combination of elements are playable with approximately equal power level
