    Are we talking about the menu only or the commands as well? Many players, given the choice, choose very easy and start spamming creeps. Here is an example of a player that tried to race me: >> Replaypack for two pass placement (tft 1.21) << (Check out the "771 Eletd (3 vh) gold no leak.w3g") Many better players started to play "all vh" games, because they are easier than mixed diff games! The usual meaning of "I am pro" in pre game chat is "I know how to abuse very easy in a way that most players die early. Of course I can't finish the game, not even on very easy, but since all others are dead, I sort of have won." Check the above replay for evidence. If you want, I can provide you with as many examples of a "very easy racer" as you wish. I will simply check my mixed diff games and post every single replay. It's so common, that I ended up timing my arrow opening to depend on a ve spammer to max interest. So to all players that can't counter ve spamming, loosing all host selection means basically to play on a lower difficulty just to survive in mixed diff. The result will ofc not be mixed diff games, but "vh or kick" games. The other extreme, hosts hosting unannounced forced diff games, are a common problem too, but, as far as I can tell, less common. If I join an "eltd join all" or "Element Td" I get a vote most of the time, and many hosts learned to name the games properly. ("Elementd TD Very Easy!")
  3. I'm interested. To my knowledge, only Cataras ever figured out how to properly play dfne. I predict you either promote the liberal use of premarital interest, pure spamming, or copying Cataras.

    Tornado - Flying Unit

    Sounds like you guys need to learn how to place a storm. The thing is, if you know what you are doing, you never end up with the storm on the wrong side of the ledge. Storm has such a huge aoe, you can slow two lanes at once, so if both sides are slowed, is there really a wrong side? And if you place the storm tower on long pass, the other side is only a short move away. Do you want to know more?
  5. One good thing about this map is, that you have to micro to play it effectively. Right now, on a good day and with proper wind conditions, I can make as much as 10-20% extra gold by microing (sell/rebuild) and knowing how much to build. By changing the interest rules, you would hurt the skilled players. How about this: [irony] -Remove interest. -Make the next wave start when the last player finishes. [/irony] Like in Blizzard TD, the result will totally hurt the most skilled player. They have no reason to play skilled, as they can't play fast anyway. All have to wait for the last noob to finish leaking. And if they don't spend their gold and/or have to wait, there is no interest to reward them. Eletd can be a micro heavy map, as it actually rewards skill. This leads to players trying to get better and better even on the highest skill levels, as you can allways rebuild more on random. So what is it you want: ( a ) Hurt the skilled players, because you don't play that good? ( b ) Make the game easier to drive high level players back to DotA? (And remove the 100% selling of random..) ( c ) Admit that maybe it was not such a good idea..

    Ahh - you have found out about my ronald hunting. It is possible multiplayer, but only if all remaining players play very slowly indeed. You have to work together to create an unrealistically high networth by slowing the creeps down and waiting for the interest to run in. And no, I didn't stop ronald. I killed them. All of them. (My highest hunt ended with 70.000 dead ronalds...)

    Challenge #5

    In the old challenge 7 the contestants agreed upon any speed challenge to be single player only, because the best times will come from a team of players that specialise in different damage types. So this challenge is not meant to test a single player but a team, right?
  10. I think the elements should be arranged in a circle representing the proper strong/weak relationships. light > dark > water > fire > nature > earth (>light again)

    In the old forums there was challenge 8. Basically the challenge means this: Use only 4 elements (no pures or interest picks). You can play them with interest (Check this replay for that), or ice/glacier, or enchantment, or whatever support tower you can think of, and you will have a solid build. (Hint - the gold towers are very high on the to-be-nerfed-o-meter. ) Same goes for storm builds. Monsson with the included freezing is about minimum speed and, as you just wittnessed, even mass sun is valid with that. If you are playing single player, mass gem is valid too. It's so incredibly valid, that you don't need anything else. You can litterally end the game with 8 unspent lumber, as you can check out here. I also like sludge builds. I found out about them when playing random. The basic idea is to use mass level 1 sludge for dark splash attack and slow and finish the creeps with flamethrower and earth towers. So i need dark, fire, and water on level 1 and earth on level 2. Includes acid, clay and some poison for extra support. So, there are many ways to skin the hobbit.

    Tower Tweaks

    I think it needs a bit more puch to it. A little more range, as that doesn't screw up the "maximum slowed pile of creeps get sunned to death" scenario. Sounds cool. Fairy fire is very importand imo, as the map needs two armour reducers. They should share no elements to be spread to "opposite sides of the builds". If we have only one armour reducer (acid), the builds get harder to balance. If we have none, we lose diversity. Carefull. Watch Cataras challenge 8 entry with dfne (Replay). He proves that they are very strong atm. They might even be overpowered. It's just that noone found out so far. Well tower Make it a triple. Buff a little. (30%/100% speed plus, mana cost a little down, so one tower can support about 5-7 towers, not just 3-5 as it is now.) It should get on par with acid. Two acid can power enough towers for the entire game. But you need about 5-7 well towers to power the same number of towers, and since they speed up each other, you have problems placing them. Another option would be to make them not speed up other well towers, but beeing a fan of tricky placement, I'd rather have them speed more towers. Money Tower Make it a triple too. Maybe exchange with metal. A little nerf here. A tower that has a mighty special effect (+% gold) should not outdo same tier damage towers w/o effect (aka rainbow and infernal). I have no problem with the next generation money tower still beeing able to solo the map with interest, but it should be harder and not possible w/o leaking anymore.

    Hero Mode

    I've been doing some thinking over the night, and my results are like this: A hero can easily mess up the lower difficulties, and that's ok with me. They are allready deliberately messed up and meant for beginners. Making them even easier doesn't hurt imo. To avoid h/vh cheese, the heroes should have a high damage with a long cooldown, affecting only one creep. In fact, every ability that affects single targets only is less effective on higher levels, needs to be microed, and ofc shouldn't affect elementals. Only aura buffs/debuffs are problematic imo.

    Hero Mode

    The hero mode is actually quite popular among the less skilled players. I'd say, nerf it a bit and give the heroes useless but colourfull effects. Like fisher price.. They draw noobs into the map and thats cool with me. And don't bother with balancing them. No strong player I know uses them anyway.

    What can i say, but thank you for all the compliments. And listen to them. Slow and splash attack towers are the key to victory. Forget single target towers, especially the long ranged ones. (You can win with single target towers, but it's neither nice nor practical.)

    I agree, it needs a buff, but only a very small one. Watch this replay: >>> Sun is da bomb <<< And sorry for me leaking the fire three. I was looking the other way.. Edit: Maybe a small damage increase (to 300) and some more range (+25%) would do the trick. Gotta be tested. The damage allready is awfully high, once you get enough slow (as demonstrated im my replay), but the tower is a bit to weak in soloing. Longer range will help with sun-solo, but wont mess up the maximum-slow situation.
