  1. I want to announce that the Element TD team has a new coder, his name is emjlr3. I have worked with emjlr3 in the past, he coded virtually everything (JASS related, which was a lot) for my other map, Tropical Tag. emjlr3 is very talented with JASS, he is also dependable and fast. I can say with certainty that this is a boon, and that the community can look forward to the map being put out sooner because of this.
  2. For the time being, all the channel needs is a basic bot. The critical functions are basic, keeping the channel open when clan members are not present, providing a mail system, and providing a greeting message for important info.
  3. As some of you may know, an Element TD ladder system is being developed. The plan is to launch it concurrent with the release of version 4.0. A ladder system you say? Yes, the system will utilize a website interface and will be complimented by the game itself. Essentially, short codes will be used between the website and the game, in order to process things like challenges, matches, tournaments etc. For instance, say you arrange a 1v1 match on the site, you will be given a code to input into the game, the winner will be given a code to give to the site, and all will be recorded. This ladder will keep track of challenges completed by users, points awarded for matches won (1v1, multiplayer), and any tournaments completed. This does sound complex, but thanks to Magicalhacker, it is a very real possibility. Any questions? Feel free to ask.

  5. Perhaps, I will wait and see what kind of review/feedback there is for the game. Although, I never played it competitively like say CS, but being able to join a random game and just blow the shit out of people is always fun .

    Pure Towers

    As long as we are discussing Pure Towers, I never got feedback on their price change, from like 26k to 16k. Does this make them too strong? Or is the limit enough to balance this?
  8. Magicalhacker is working on a bot for the channel, in the meantime though, it might be wise to get someone to use the bot that Sancdar posted. Also, with listchecker program, you can cut down on lag between international players. You can find it here.

    USEast TD Clan

    Close to two weeks ago now, I wonder if this has a chance. Of course, with listchecker program (allows lan protocol in games instead of BNET, thus reducing lag among international players) it might be best to consolidate everyone to Clan etd on Northrend. Find listchecker here.

  11. What game mode/s do you enjoy the most? Are you a very hard, extreme, and samerandom player? Or do you enjoy a casual game of normal hero mode? There are many combinations, what do you enjoy the most?
  12. Do you --- Micro towers? Build to pressure other players? Sell and rebuild for interest? Sell and rebuild to attack in more than one area? Concentrate on placement, one pass/two pass etc.? The list goes on, what do you focus on in games? How do you play?

  14. Why would this tower require micro? You would place it in a smart place, and just let it go, slowing the entire lane.

  19. I think I may have a solution that would reduce lag, and make it able to be affected by damage/speed bonuses. Could we make the tower have an artillery attack, make its projectile some sort of meteor, give it an arc such that it would look like it is coming down from the skies, and then every time it should attack, make it attack a random spot within the radius of its attack range?
  20. I wonder if there is an easier way to do this. There will be two types of towers with this ability, a "level 1 triple tower," and a "level 2 triple tower." The attack damage of these towers WILL be constant, only modified by this ability. Is there someway to detect the number of links in a chain, and then provide the correct bonus to the right tower/s? Perhaps add a dummy ability that adds X damage for each level 1 tower, and Y damage for each level 2 tower, or detect when tower does damage and modify it by correct factor. For now, lets make the factor 1.05, so if there are two towers and they are linking, the attacking one will do 2.05 damage instead of 1.
  21. With some towers in the game, they can easily kill units in 1 hit, up until near the end. Something like this will already be coded for the persistence spell (20% chance to evade damage if it is lethal), so I imagine this would be an additional few minutes at most.
