  1. I really like the new chaos. It's great. About the double elements, thats more like a question of taste and difficulty. Right now I can't tell which elements are coming or which have come for the last time, so the map got a lot harder in chaos. Double rounds are easy to destroy, so this kind off lowers the difficulty again.

  4. @ocmassreo That's basically a swiss system tournament with 2^n players and n rounds (2^3=8 players and 3 rounds in your example). But we never had waiting time. Who lost was out. So whats that with the waiting time? Are you talking about a double elimination? That's got tons of waiting time allright, and that's exactly the reason why I favour swiss system. But let me ask you a question: If we play swiss with say, 14 players, do you belive that all of them will play all rounds? Even the ones that keep loosing? I fear to many might chicken out and spoil the event. Still this is my favourite choice.
  5. Wave 12 is non ele, and I use elemental arrows in the arrow opening there - but still 2 elemental arrows can one shoot them. Good. Wave 15 is fast earth instead of fire now. Dunno what to think. Wave 30 new gfx, make them a little smaller, they are not exactly fearsome. Element summoned message new, good. Changed name of wave 31 - im not sure if its political correct for a german to kill rabbis. 32 changed to undead, death knight name and model. Hm. 35 healing now. 43 changed to darkelf, undead. Undead again? Why weaken life towers and instant kill? 58 no longer undead, new model - hm. Gets easier by this. 60 undead. Why no longer healing on 60? Undead is far easier. Ronnie to easy. Why is the endgame so much easier? No undeads on 58, no healing on 60 and ronnie dies to fast. >> Replay << Now I'll test the chaos mode. Edit - here goes: I randomed dark on 32, and got a dread lord model, ain't they undead? Anf I got evil childs (undead) as wave 42 and nature as wave 60. >> Replay <<
  6. Newsflash I'm totally atm. MagicalHacker has found a new tower distribution. It's still work in progress, but might be an improvement on my version. It relies heavily on 3 different strong duals as a base. It looks like this: 4-Element-builds Pts Elements 4 ldwf 4 ldwn 4 ldwe 4 ldfn 4 ldfe 4 ldne 4 lwfn 4 lwfe 4 lwne 4 lfne 4 dwfn 4 dwfe 4 dwne 4 dfne 4 wfne 5-Element-builds Pts Elements 8 ldwfn 8 ldwfe 8 ldwne 8 ldfne 8 lwfne 8 dwfne The towers relative position is this: Three duals that don't share any elements, lets say.. Dual 1 ld Dual 2 wf Dual 3 ne They are the strongest towers, each worth 2 points. And 8 triples, each worth 1 point, are made of all possible combinations of "one element of each of the aforementioned duals", which are.. Triple 1 lfn Triple 2 lfe Triple 3 lwn Triple 4 lwe Triple 5 dfn Triple 6 dfe Triple 7 dwn Triple 8 dwe ..in this example. The actual elements can be exchanged as much as you like, as long as the relative position of the towers is retained. The triples relative position is identical to my solution, so what he does is to add 3 duals worth twice a triple each, and ends up with equal builds. This is very early stage, and maybe he will come up with an even better sollution. This current suggestion has three disadvantages: 11 towers instead of 8 need to be strong, some of them need to be twice as strong, and strong duals might lead to a very predictable early game on pick. The main advantage is ofc this: All 4 element builds are equal and all 5 element builds are equal. If 5 element builds get to strong compared to 4 element builds needs to examined more closely. It might not be such a problem, as duals have 3 levels and getting a dual to max level takes away many of your options. So what do you think - sounds like an improvement?
  7. No, everywhere in a circular area, like nova, but not with a bash, but constantly.
  8. There are two reasons for this, you have to play with decent players that can all survive till wave 25 or so, and you have to ask them regularily. Most players that encounter lag curse silently. Or maybe your connection rocks..
  9. Full games don't work afaik. I've done some testing on that. There will be lag for at least 2 players in a normal game. I'd say the safe maximum is 4, if we must 5 players, else we exclude those that didn't spend money big time. But why would we want big games anyway? Other players suggested 1on1s only.
  10. @ energig - Thanks for the big feedback. That is a problem, as the hosts need to have a decent connection and normally can't participate in the event. One idea might be to let the weakest player of a match be the host, but that might lag all if his system/connection sucks. Or we need 3-4 very helpfull non-eletd-players that don't mind 4 hours of siting there just watching. MagicalHacker has a very decent connection and 3 tft keys, so he can host 2 extra games, maybe we have more such members that can help out. That winning condition is as good or bad as "last one standing" imo. I want more opinions on that matter please. More players advancing requires disciplined players that can report that, and after the first event I'd say we've got enough such players. We'd also need more players per game, as best two of three players per match doesn't sound fair as well. Imo at least 4 players per game are required to let 2 advance. As for the "friendly atmosphere", maybe we can play swiss system or double elimination, both have advantages and disadvantages. We are working on a league. I don't like the "how many lives you have left". Don't you agree that randoming tech of life as the first dual has nothing to do with skill? And that winning 10 games w/o life giving tower doesn't mean that a player plays bad?

    Hero information page?

    This request comes a little early. Or a little late, as a matter of fact. In early versions of eletd, heroes played an important role, but in 3.0 they are more like an abandomed feature. So you are a little late for info about heroes. On the other hand, in the upcoming 3.1 or 4.0, the heroes might get ballanced and jazzed up again, so maybe you are to early to ask.

    I'm writing the report about the tournament now, and I hav a question: Eckschen, Kekschen and megaman_mega came to the tournament on invitation. Can anybody tell me who they are or at least who invited them? I want to introduce all players, and know nothing about those three.
  13. I'm no mapper, but this sounds like a good idea. Now the elementals would get the low target priority, which is ok imo.

    What exactly should this tower record? Micro commands? Like attack this creep then change target? But "this creep" is gone in the next wave.
  15. This thread is a good idea. As for point 2, I was totally clear as what to do in case of a disconnect: If the game is in it's early stages, restart. If not, it's a loss. In case of doubts I use the rules of the WWCL. I've handled things like that in many tournaments, I just didn't state it before this one. So was the game in question in its early stages? Jolin012 got dropped in wave 15. I was unsure, but decided that this might be considered early midgame. We can decide this in detail for the next tournament. Things to change: Write a boring ruleset that noone reads and pretend "I've told you so" for the next time.
