well... i don't micro towers, sell and rebuild for interest, build at IX or III occasionally at IV. i'm usually not the first to finish the wave, usually finishing just after the next round starts... and i try to avoid using the key towers of lwfd-n build... just to try out other towers and find other builds that work...

i am a VH random (not necessarily samerandom) player... i play xVH allrandom just for fun to see who can survive the longest although most die before lvl 20... either that or i'm trying to beat the weaker builds (those without access to storm tower) ... dfne etc..

the opening post says you SELECT a target/ground.. as opposed to the tower firing a stream of stuff in a line...

i survived until 30plus in one game playing the challenge (before i posted it here) but that was on chaos pick on the beta (don't ask me why i picked that mode and decided to play a challenge like that).. off-topic: some challenges should have only one winner... maybe multiple rounds of it but each round only has one winner. then after 4-8 rounds (if it's that popular or there is still interest), have all the winners play a round to decide on the final winner... the final winner would then be given a different title (eg fastest eletd player) while the rest gets something else (like speedrun #2 winner)...

i don't think we need so many micro-heavy towers... and what would be the range?

ok... i think i was trying to play dfne for that game and lost to a storm tower... which is my own mistake for trying to play a weak build... i've seen the problems arising when an average vh player plays against a pro ve player... i agree that i we do need to define this problem better.. it's not just about the ve/vh matchup as that can be handled as you have said..

5 sec is too short to rebuild your entire defense in mid-late game in random...should be slightly longer... in my case, i have problems with ve spammers in the early game... when the ve spammer is at IV and i'm playing at VI. he finishes his wave much faster than me. there was one game where i had 3 spawns in my area (also i was playing slow) ... most of the time, after a vh player gets the core defense (storm towers anyone?) up, it isn't much of a problem

interesting... 50% is kind of high though... how would it work if a tower could kill a creep in one hit? this would encourage overbuilding or spamming of lower level towers for the whole game just to handle this level, especially on pick... this would require some testing to see if it is balanced...

one player chooses all play sounds like the one propsed in another thread where the host picks for the whole game.. the common pool would contain plenty of interest, darkness and nature... pure dark FTW! what is the worst possible combination of elements?? 11 interests? it's proven that all 4-element builds are playable...

Fill the entire map with maxed basic towers. You are not allowed to leak. You are not allowed to summon an elemental. Interest is allowed ofc. -start building at the slowest areas and expand to the normal, finally the fast areas. there is nothing much to it... ok. for my challenge survive until lvl 40 using only cannons and arrows. Elemental arrows, cannons and interest are allowed. this would allow for decisions on element picks to maximise dmg and survivability.

i usually listen to the default music... effects louder than music.. the sound may alert you to backstabs as well as windwalks and other spells... it's also quite interesting to hear what the hero/builder says when you spam clicks on him/her...

i haven't kicked anyone or got kicked by anyone...i host most of my games ... all voting systems are open to disputes and may be abused. -k... interesting... then i'll just micro well, kill everything early (at VII or even / ) and sell and rebuild repeatedly...

or try this.. survive as long as possible using only cannons and arrows (elemental cannons and arrows allowed) you are allowed to play as slow as you want...

you would have to play a very slow game to get all the gold... in basic elemental arrows/cannons...

agree... then it would go down to brute force overbuilding just to kill everything, which isn't something we want in the game...

host picks everything before game starts.. to other players, it would be something like random except it's 'randomed' by the host as opposed to random by the computer... a slight disadvantage... the host's creeps have extra armour/increased movespeed? (not sure if this can be programmed)... this mode as i see it is for a host to see how others might play with a certain set of elements.. maybe a 'bad' random for the host in an earlier game. i don't like everyone has a chance to pick an element. then everyone is better off playing straight pick instead of this mode...

have all the paths cost the same... more often, this happens in random where one path would give better results.. instead of going thru the process of selling and rebuilding it the 'correct' way...

at least something more to consider for long-range towers... it would force a rethink of some builds especially those who build at IV or VII (at the 2nd pass)...

good job... having the website there will be good... most other maps have the clan/creater/map's website somewhere even in the main text (intro)... if the tourney becomes a regular thing maybe find a way to fit that in too...

apparently i don't have much problem filling eletd games... i get a full server within 3 minutes most of the time...(i host all my games) ... but dota is one of the few maps that i play regularly.. apart from eletd.. with elim tourney/pass the bomb to fill in time...

i didn't see major problem with blink tower. it does have its uses.. i mean not every tower needs a use on random..? this would be used most likely on VIII, V or II where it is more likely to have creeps on both sides. might have some uses on random especially with no slows where there will be creeps on both? sides...

i like the last idea... it's better than the original while retaining the concept...
