I'm glad to finally present to you guys the fifth beta. I'm sure everyone will agree that it has been in the making for long enough. With this release, I hope to address the main issues hindering testing. Get the beta here: http://www.eletd.com/beta You must use the following info: Username: tester Password: carleton First: In order to play the beta, you must type -carleton before the first round spawns. If you do not do so, the game will end. Make sure to put to good use the -level, -gold, and -lumber commands. Second: The following things are no cause for concern: -Hero Mode is not functional at all -Tooltips are out of whack -Hydro Tower (Spout ability) will bug, still trying to figure it out Third: Things to test: -Do Undead units bug the game anymore? -Can you bug Frostbite? -Balance/Playability testing of builds/towers. Don't hold back your comments about towers, if it really feels weird or sucks, let me know. Fourth: Here is the changelog: -Fixed Undead round stopping bug -Frostbite ability should be bug free now -Impulse/Quaker/Hydro (the three triggered damage as a result of attack) towers now benefit from "Fire Up" -All triggered damage is now affected by armor, only composite attack towers (ones that use ladder abilities) bypass armor now -Kindle tower AoE of immolation buffed -Laser tower updated and functional -Magic tower updated and functional (partially, only damage skill for now)

For now, I'm going to put this on ice. I've gone back and forth on the issue of whether to retain hero mode or not, and at this point I'm going to play it by ear. I want to first see how the middle stage of development (making sense of all the new content) goes first.

As soon as I read the "longer the projectile travels the less damage it does," idea I was sold. It definitely seems like an idea worth running with at least. With that said, it seems that Laser Tower has been taken care of (for now). Thus, I'd like to shift the focus to Magic Tower, as that is still outstanding (partially). Cisz is right in saying that none of the effects should be slowing. The original extra damage spell is nice, and I'd like to put it back in as well (albeit in a slightly different form). What it comes down to then is figuring out some extra spells to give Magic Tower. I'm giving the replenish mana ability some good thought, as I am thinking about making mana a factor again in autocast spells. Depending on whether I do or not, I need either 1 or 2 more spells.

You cannot make "damage area," target only enemies as far as I know (at least in GUI). What you need to do instead is damage units individually. This can be accomplished by first picking all units within X range of what you specify (e.g. target point of spell being cast) matching conditions you want (e.g. are an enemy). Then, you want to use the damage unit function to cause specified unit (e.g. caster) to damage picked unit. If you are familiar with eliminating memory leaks, then I'm sure you know how to do so by modifying the steps above. If you have questions, let me know and I will post code (I didn't now because my computer is not hooked up yet).

I wish I had an ETA, I really don't. At this point progress is determined by effort of testers and quantity of problems. Element TD 4.0 is much closer to release now that we are testing content, instead of brainstorming or coding it.

You do not need an EU version of WC3 to play on Northrend. When you get to the main menu, next to Battlenet button is a box with a magnifying lens icon. Click it, it will allow you to change servers.

We will find new towers for Magic and Prism. As for outstanding bugs, there is a thread in this section with bugs such as the spout one.

You should uninstall your firewall and anti-virus. Without the name of each, I can't be sure they are actually high quality. You can get reliable and free protection online. AVG Anti-Virus, and Zonealarm Firewall Personal are great.

Glad to hear that some of you are enjoying the new challenge presented by Very Hard. To be honest, I'm not sure what can be done about Very Easy, as any change would affect Very Hard.

I'd suggest trying to play on Northrend. Clan etd was formed for people who want to play Element TD.

Element TD 4.0 was supposed to come out around September. However, due to college starting, I've been quite busy. The betas are progressing along, a lot of bugs have been found and dealt with. After some more bug fixes, balance testing will be needed. Once that is done, a public beta should follow soon after.

Yes, I have been busy with school quite a bit. I do plan on releasing the next beta sometime this week. I was hoping that some of the outstanding coding issues could be taken care of as time permits.
