Dates

Recommended Posts

I found out that the arrangement of the topics are not in order (they are almost random), how about trying to arrange it with dates?

They're arranged by date of last reply with the exception that stickied topics are always above regular topics, and announcements in their own special section above those. Some of the forums have a LOT of stickied topics, and it can be a little confusing.

edit: Who would have thought this would be about forum display and not the multiple incorrect release dates?

Apropros dates: To keep dead threads dead you (Karawasa) could activate auto-closing after 30 days no post. But the creator should be able to wake the thread up again - but nobody else.

We are still a small community, so I consider no thread a dead thread by default.

I would only ask of the poster that they check the age of the thread they are replying in, especially the age of the last post. ;)

I'd actually prefer that an older topic be bumped and for activity to focus around it. Provided it isn't too old, I think the alternative (no post) is worse. Perhaps auto-close topics after three months.

Yeah three months is ok too. I simply don't want that (especially post counter pusher) dig out corpses.

I don't see the reason to keep dead topics dead. I'm sure the reviver has a good reason to do so - perhaps he posted that he wanted to accomplish something - and 3 mounths later finally did it and have a replay? Or, could be anything..

Those are very good examples.

That user just joined the forums, and checks out what interests him, or where he has an opinion or information to add. I do the same when I enter a community, and since I am a moderator here, I am ofc right about these things.
