    interesting stuff... deal 1 dmg to all towers? (all towers would sell for 1 less gold?) the 2nd one... some would panic and start spamming towers? most would just take the time to sell and rebuild, get interest and fix bad placement... or u'll just scan around the map looking for players who misplace towers and give them advice...

  3. most likely host will pick everything. but i do think that there should be a vote of some sort. maybe host picks the first 5 and the other players vote whether they approve it. then after that decide the next 6..(more to avoid a long wait and too long voting times) ... about the sell cost. it's close to random except it's 'randomed' by the host...so maybe the compromise is better.. the host would most likely have the build planned before starting the game... then again, samerandom would be better... or just plain -random the pros will be picking lwfd-n and it's various variations.. either that or gold tower build... (then everyone will be playing exactly the same... the game would go to who can micro storm the best and 'better' placement...) maybe someone will force a dfne and see if it is really that difficult to beat....

    i don't think most of the so-called tower rebalancing has been done yet... some form of the changelog is on the beta release post (the one you downloaded the map from)...
  5. quite an interesting concept there... then maybe the tower needs a gold penalty for selling. like you lose 50? gold everytime you sell the tower (as opposed to degenerate, where the sell price is variable)
  6. agree.. unless the towers could be named in such a way that the hotkey is the first letter of the tower except for a few. would make it easier. except maybe when you are trying to speed upgrade different towers and press the wrong elements (more often in random) , which is not a problem if every tower had a unique hotkey.
  7. agree. mass-aoe slow at the entrance. it'll just force players to build at the start. something like a forced speedrun....
  8. i would say a public beta after most of the stuff has been tested and balanced by the beta testers first... anyway, how many public players would actually give their feedback? most would just spread the message that ______ is imbalanced or the game is too difficult etc...
  9. i only have time for the odd game or two during the weekends. preparing for major school exams.. but i used to play 6 games every weekened. getting rusty now.. always can't remember what towers i can build with the elements i get (on random).
  10. i found about element td when clicking on random tds. played mostly burbenog and green td for a while. then after then gem td... but ele td is probably one of the best. at least no super-imbalanced creeps or towers. ( the last lvl siege tower of green td was almost impossible to get unless you were red/btm and everyone leaked a lot).. i'm sticking with eletd as the TD of choice
  11. but shouldn't the tower to be copied be somewhere on the map already? most TDs are played on multiplayer... single player is for testing builds, showing off skills or doing the speedrun...
  12. ok. i get that. so the copy tower will start out as a basic tower, then gets upgraded to a dual, then a triple??

"How about a limit to what it can make, like 1 less element pick then is in the tower?" - then u pick what tower it 'clones'? so if you clone a triple you choose one of the duals that can lead to that triple? this would potentially be giving a player access to all the towers in the game, esp in allrandom... it either has a long cooldown or the clone lasts for a very short time to be balanced... and before a tower is cloned, it's a blank tower with no attacks?
  14. might be overpowered with large slows... maybe a condition that the curse would not kill units directly, leaving them with 1 hp if the bonus dmg would kill. and yes, like the above posters, we should be creating original ideas... (don't be scary movie 4, essentially a compilation of clips from different movies put together)
  15. a tower that moves instantly doesn't need any more help. and i don't think the towers should take the best place available. maybe a condition that the arrangement of the towers is fixed and there must be space available on the area the tower blinks too (maybe allow rotation)
  16. might become a tower of limited use... the dmg would have to be balanced with other towers in the game... although variable sell price isn't one of the things i would want to see...
  17. maybe it's true that doubles are easier to notice in a group of randoms. but i think that randomization can be improved to give less doubles. something quite minor: in chaos mode, when you click on the creeps, it still shows the non-chaos level of the creeps (the original sequence lvl). not sure if that can be reprogrammed to show the current level as this would be different every game of chaos? has anyone tested the beta on multiplayer? possible to testers to meet up to play a few games to test?

    ban it from copying certain towers... then how to decide what towers are banned... although i feel it that would take out most of the fun of having the tower in the first place if only the weaker towers can be copied ... see if anyone can come up with better ideas for it...
  19. i don't really think we need to disallow repeats. it's chaos mode. but i think the randomization needs some balancing. doubles were occurring TOO often in the games i played. another part of the challenge comes from deciding on a build that will handle whatever wave that comes reasonably. tech towers, for instance, need to be built at lightning speed when the next level is mech and sold rapidly on random. on pick, you would need to decide on the benefits of extra lifes for mech and whether is the dmg worth it on other lvls.

    i foresee this tower recording the number of attacks and the spells it cast... say press record on a storm tower before it casts the tornado. the tornado is cast and is recorded. then maybe the tornado is stopped to use the storm's tower's normal attack. so when replayed, the tower would cast a tornado, stop, normal attack. (tornado spawns at area targeted by the player and tower attacks using normal tower targetting.) sounds imbalanced....
  21. so i presume that the target unit need not be in range of the tower when it is selected? one way could be use a roots/gem tower to hold the unit in place, and then target it...
  22. finally had some time to play a few games... played chaos random... liked the new chaos... although i frequently had doubles.. i had double darkness, double healing, double fast etc.. there was another part where i had 3 water lvls in 5... didn't seem very random... random didn't seem very random... in all 3 games i had darkness and plenty of interest.. and nature lvl 1,something else, nature 2 and nature 3 for 3rd-7th lumber in one game... i feel that the darkness tower is much weaker compared to the other amplified towers... overall it's a good beta. the game is harder and more challenging now. on a side note: is there any changes to the movespeed? i feel that the creeps are moving faster than 3.0 also, if you are already on random mode (using host options) and still type -random before lvl 5, it should not show the usual text. possible to add a line that says you are already on random mode?

    this might open up for some insane dmg combo in multiples... or copy a storm tower to stop creeps that leaked and the tornado spawned at the wrong place.
  24. so a tower which is best built in the early game ... this would depend on how much speed it gains and the dmg it does. though i think this can be balanced with some testing...
  25. so what happens when it's upgraded ? seems interesting but it may become one of those towers that no one uses on pick and only on random...
