  1. Just tested on level 37 light (mechanical though)

    Magic towers tier 3 (darkness damgage 50%) vs hydro towers tier 1 (earth damage 200%)

    200% / 50% = 4 times more damage vs this level then magic towers tier 3.

    Builded 3 magic towers tier 3 (9375 cost) at 4-5 They cleared the level pretty easy.

    Builded 19 hydro towers tier 1 (9500 cost) at 4-5 also they also cleared it quite easy, but -almost- leaked a few. (not taken in calculation that is was mech and hydro is a semi splash tower)

    The 3 magic towers did much better then the 19 hydro towers that even costed a bit more. And should have had a big advantage.

    If hydro had darkness damage vs this level we would have needed 19*4 = 76 hydro towers on a level whe needed 3 magic towers.

    Correct me if I am wrong >.<


  2. I like your thinking about that double armor thing.

    But as me and holepercent said it is problary better to uppgrade to tier 3 then to build tier 1-2 to counter an element. But with this Element TD kind of lost it's own personal style, it wouldn't be -elemental- TD. It would only be -play 2000 times to learn when to upgrade- TD which is.. problary not a good idea.


  3. The game is seriously waay to hard now. I think we struggle to much for perfection in terms of exakt number balance. every wave increase by so and so much damage, every tower cost increase by so and so much gold.

    I would say decrease the cost of tripples by a mere 17 gold. and standardize all tower cost. It gives in my oppinion a more fresh feeling of the gold cost.

    I get the feeling that towers get a to much buff per tier upgrade, so that it is actaully somehow better to uppgrade dual tier 1 towers to tier 3 instead of building other tier 1 duals to face like water vs darkness. (no numbers, nothing, I just get the feeling of it)

    Instead of buffing sent elements to "buff" single targets, increase the damage of singles targets instead. ( Lightning tower and hail should be considerred "single" towers, since they doesn't increase in numbers which can be targeted. )

    Well, in short terms the game is to hard right now.


  4. Yes for me, it is better to have it running then teleport it..

    And the teleport itself have such a long cooldown....

    as you said there only point in teleporting is using it to either pass alot of towers in the way or teleport it to 4-5.

    So well, to bad I forgot this topic when playing.

    I started playing some element td public today.

    We ended upp with a retarded host... so we decided to do a remake. The other guy wanted to play 3.8 +?? so I wanted to what kind of fake map this was. It was just 3.0 but he remembered wrong xD

    So it went extremly bad for me, because of wrong hotkeys and such, we played extreme. I got refered as retarded by some people ( I don't blame them) But the other host decided that we remake again with 4.0 public.

    As it felt like a competiotion, I really wanted to win :P So when he left I had no idea to continue play..... I had noleak until level 25 then I left the game.... (with 8 players)

    It was the first public beta for a LONG time and I didn't do any big mistakes this time, not much interest farming but a more safe way.

    BTW enough trashtalk now which none wants to read heres the replay. (After I quit, I got reminded of this thread... I saved it, but I should have continued on. But like me, I hate to play alone. (wy I wait for 4.0 sooo much)

  6. This is not a discussion thread, more which last minute changes you would have done. Just to se more what people thinks.

    My personal ideas.

    Game balance:

    Increase 1100 range towers, to 1150 range.

    Nerf composite from 75% to 80% reduction.

    Nerf healing a bit, either the amount healed or area. (single target towers lategame usually spread their attacks out, wanted or not)

    Game flow balance:

    Standardise all tower cost, (like 1517 to 1500, 6068 to 6000)

    Fix earth armor bug

    New Terrain:

    A bit more flashy doodads. (like those runes)

    add some bubbles instead for a more beach/ocean like terrain.

    Change the Darkness/water to Nature/water (like a swamp, or like a small pond in a "magic" forest)

    In the deep forest, add some deep wc3 forest feeling (like the orc quest in RoC when you must gather lumber, (whisps around trees and such)

    Dark terrain area, add a bat or something that flies around. (either use the doodad, or make your own using gargoyle model and recduce size and set color to black)

    P.S. it was not the rain that caused fps drop, it was somehow the water. Altough I have been able to play battleships without any fps drops?

    Modes:

    New "extreme/chaos?" mode:

    Creeps newer stop spawning either next level spawn directly after, or they wait a few seconds. Creeps are a little more spread out, so splash aren't to imba. (sadly short range towers will have more power here, but don't know how to fix that)

  7. M45T3R, your posts have been entirely unhelpful and completely unrelated to my comments about a low graphics mode. They've all been about "get a better computer". I have a better computer, I have been building computers for years. That's not the point, please stop trolling.

    You have problary been to long on a dota forum or such.

    If you stop bumping threads more then 1½ years old I think it would be less "trolling", then if M45T3R stopped trolling.

    It is better to start a new fresh topic with current status imo.

    BTW, cool trolls are cool!


  8. I have 896 mb ram (don't ask me wy, because I don't know the answer)

    And it runs good, there was some issues on the older versions. Specially with "closed beta new ice" and also "closed beta new gunpowder" those could before make heavy lagg.

    Hm, with the public I can't remember any of theese things, maybe exept with undead, but I thought it was fixed before it went public?


  9. I got owned by every composite level. I still think 80% would be better.

    And for void, the terrain is better now.

    Having you name there looks like an hacked version... atlest that is what went through my mind first... Since I didn't knew anyone named isim.

    But I still dislike the mist.. the mist which makes it harder to see, and also reduces fps.

    And I don't know wy but in the rainy areas I get a big fps drop from 30 to 20. And it does not happen in any other maps like battletanks and dota.

    And as said it needs more doodads, clear doodads not "fillup" doodads which I have seen you use alot. (like the portals) it looks great, but there should be a little more "ordinary" doodads aswell.

    Much better then before, keep up the good work.

    Second, maybe its just me, or was the game made harder? maybe its just me playing bad, but I just lost.... to easy.... to bad i forgot to save the replay, pressed wrong button.

    Building at the very top row of / causes the tower to be sold without refund.

    I thought I had reported this already, but it seemed not fixed.

    (haven't tried it yet :roll: but i asume he didn't lie.


  12. Can you play dota on your laptop?

    How old is the laptop?

    If you check how much your computer uses in work memory and then take it away from the total RAM how much do you have left:

    With wc3 on

    Without wc3 on

    With wc3 on playing element td.

    Just some questions.

    I haven't yet had problems in the recent versions with any laggs. But some older version had issues which could create massive lagg. But I don't think any of thoose versions were official.

    BTW: Myself use an about 3 years old latop. Works pretty good, stays at around 30fps all the time exept during rare times when it use more then neccecary memory.

    P.S. when did you "defrag" your computer the last time?

    When did you do a virus search last time?

    And I don't have that speed now, altough I promise that when the official 4.0 is out I will try to get another one up.

    (but it will be harder, since harder version... yet again...)
