Guest dyehardz Posted April 9, 2008 intro : what is interest-bastard-player? any player who loves to sell some towers just for getting some interest money, then rebuild it again. you'll see this kind of player at any random game. imo this technique is kinda ruining the game a bit. it's more like a 'cheap trick' than a 'good strategy'. (although my playing style is like this) building & upgrading a tower takes several seconds, right? why don't you apply the same thing for selling tower? the time is equal to sum of its building time from scratch. eg. selling laser takes longer than selling light lv2. and you get the gold aftar that delay. (don't forget that selling are cancel-able now0 with this restriction, I believe we will have better gameplays with strategy than 'cheap trick'. what's your opinion? jolin012 Posted April 9, 2008 It's true that it ain't pure strategy. but it's not a cheap trick^^(imo) It's a great thing that allows you to scrap together some cash by beeing active and not only sleeping, and also allows the player to increase his skill not only strategy-wise but also some skill with the game that can always get a bit better. There has allready been a sugguestion to remove the opportunity of selling/rebuilding, that was about making interest come every second instead, at a lower rate, however, the idea was mostly dislikes as far as i remember. DDRKirby(ISQ) Posted April 9, 2008 this is one of the things that makes eletd so fun for me why not just play pick if u dont want to deal with it? as it is sell-rebuild already loses effectiveness as game goes on--even if selling is instant, building times go up and temporary towers become obsolete. Cisz Posted April 10, 2008 Selling/rebuilding and farming interest is one of the mayor features of the map. It is absolutely intended by the maker(s), it even has an interest counter to allow timed selling. I did about +10%-20% networth in 3.0 (should be similiar in 4.0pb). So farming is one mayor source of income. Farming is one of the reasons that it is not enough to know a build. In rts you need to actually pull it off in time. Guest dyehardz Posted April 10, 2008 have selling time doesnt mean you cant sell at all. you just need more skill to determine the right time to sell if you want to get interest, especially interest from selling high lvl towers. in other word : its more challenging. I dont mind selling-building towers. actually we need this ability to survive in random games. what I mind is 'easily' sell towers just to get interest, then rebuild it. especially if he sells the _expensive_ periodic towers while it is very _easy_ (only need 1 step) and quite _fast_ to build. (compared to pure elements) some questions : - what is the reason to have building time? - why the builder have slow movement?
