echinodermata Posted January 22, 2009 There are a few things we need to rephrase - some of our more poorly worded, slanted, easily misconstrued, or perhaps inherently confusing concepts. These changes should be made on the site, in the ingame quests menu, in ingame tooltips, etc. It's all about giving the right impression about EleTD's more unique concepts. -------------------------------- Picking Elements -------------------------------- The site and the ingame quests menu currently give the impression that you get lumber for the purpose of summoning an elemental guardian, and killing it allows you to use a certain element. I think you'll agree that this is missing the point. You get lumber for the purpose of getting an element, and killing an elemental guardian just happens to be the requirement. There's a distinction. -------------------------------- Upgrading Towers -------------------------------- These elements either infuse existing towers with their specific qualities or inhabit their own, specialized elemental tower. Beginning with two elements, the user can combine elements and create unique dual and triple element towers.... Each element combines with another element to create a unique dual tower, and each dual tower can combine with a third and separate element to create a triple element tower. There are 15 dual towers and 20 triple towers in Element TD. The elements aren't "infused" into existing towers. That would suggest an automatic global upgrade, which is clearly not the case. Rather, it gives you the option of using that element in a tower. Elements don't "combine" or join with other elements either. You don't build a dual by building two singles next to each other and saying fusion-ha! They can be added to an existing tower. -------------------------------- Return of the Creeps -------------------------------- Players no longer lose gold for missing out on a crucial creep kill. In most Tower Defense games, if you let a creep reach the end of its path, you lose a life and whatever gold you would have gotten from killing it. In Element TD, leaked creeps respawn at the start of the path. This gives you another chance at the gold they carry, but gives the creep another chance at you. This one we just need to say it as it is, and stop pretending like this is some major innovation or benefit for the player. Leaked creeps continue to run until you kill them. That's it. Afterwards, you can mention some of the implications. Go to top Share this post Link to post

" No, the site and game are correct. You summon the element guardian for an opportunity to get the element. If you don't get kill the guardian you don't get the element.. It's pretty straightforward. " The elements aren't "infused" into existing towers. That would suggest an automatic global upgrade, which is clearly not the case. Rather, it gives you the option of using that element in a tower. " In fact they are fused as killing the element gives the opportunity to upgrade it to a potential fusion of the towers. You'll also notice when you kill the element it makes a splash on every tower indicating the 'fusion' Insults removed. Manners please. -Cisz Go to top Share this post Link to post
Cisz Posted January 22, 2009 I agree with echinodermata on the tower upgrading and the summoning. Go to top Share this post Link to post
Guest SadistNation Posted January 23, 2009 Rofl edited for an insult. His entire post is insulting. It's basically the biggest nitpick I've ever seen regarding any map, and 2/3 of his points aren't even valid. Go to top Share this post Link to post

Yes, let's not fix the little problems, regardless of the fact that it takes little effort to do so, because they don't really matter. Go to top Share this post Link to post
Guest NinoDoko Posted February 2, 2009 about 80% of people who play the game dont read anything, they just listen to other players 10% of the remaining 20% (aka, 10 % of the reading players) read instructions, but dont completely understand them 9% (of the reading players) read instructions and follow them correctly (and they can handle a few dumb "mistakes") the rest 1% are people that post this kinds of topics (obviousely, the percentages arent real ) Go to top Share this post Link to post
Guest Silfarion Posted February 2, 2009 Did he had to actually some things that aren't appropriate? He can complain; yes we can understand that, but it's a game not a real life thing, he didn't have to get all serious and insult or something. Go to top Share this post Link to post
Guest M45T3R Posted February 2, 2009 The "return of the creeps" part got me REALLY cracked up. That just proves that you're crying about it because you can't kill them. Go to top Share this post Link to post

Guest NinoDoko Posted February 3, 2009 he's talking about the part where creeps start running from the beggining. And yes, it is an inovation and it is benefical for the player. If u sent a lvl3 element when u cant kill him, and he runs past you 6 times, its your fault. If u build light towers vs undead/healing earth wave, its your fault.
