Is your description of the SC2 editor in contrast to WC3's? I feel that starcraft is the natural continuation of eletd. That blizzard has included the eletd brand in several presentations demonstrates how they have had us in mind while developing their new tools and battle.net system - which may also be the most viable method for monetizing eletd.

Thank you for solving this. I have a replay of someone subverting the host's chosen difficulty but wasn't sure how they did it. To clarify, Very Easy is granted to a player regardless of the Host's mandate if their selection times out. edit: 13est is on top of this one. and ashalon

Looking at statistics from over 6000 bot-hosted games, roughly 2% of them lasted less than 30 seconds. This indicates a crash similar that described originally. Out of 1000 games starting with 8 players in them, 27 crashed at 30 seconds (2.7%). This relationship between more players and an above-average percentage of crashes could exist because the crash seems most likely to happen when a player drops during loading. More players, more chance of one dropping during load. Here is an example crash. A player drops and the game finishes loading with 7. To implement a command or pre-match menu item that allows the host to create a lower limit on all player's difficulty. Command: -lowerlimit normal All players on either very easy or easy now have their difficulty upgraded to normal Menu: Very Easy, ... , Very Hard, Refer, Refer (limit) The next screen would prompt the host to select difficulty to be the lower limit. When players now choose their difficulty, those below the host's limit are disabled.

The lag screen for a player appeared immediately as match starts. We vote to drop. We vote on options. Game crashes and I am looking at the desktop. Hosting bot also shows that every player in the match left. No replay available.

First three extra short mode elements appeared and countdown began. Some time later the remaining three were summoned, the timers restarted, and more game modes were displayed. I am not entirely sure this was a bug as I was unable to see what the host was up to. etd 4.1b glitched opening.w3g

pfff. http://pastebin.ca/871820 Formatting was done well, but it still requires a fairly large display for the text not to wrap to the next line. For anyone without 1280x1024 as their resolution, screenshots: Duals Tripples

Those system specs are probably average or above average for most people still playing WC3.

I have evidence to the contrary. http://rapidshare.com/files/54391586/Be ... r.w3g.html The lag taking place here is clearly not network lag, as this is a single player private bnet match. Not only did an enormous gap develop between the spawning creeps (that is, the time between their spawn), but the lag was even noticeable in the hotkey presses.

I'm impressed with how well orgainzed this was and how many people participated.
