ah, ok. i understood holepercent´s "total hp" as the max hp, not the current hp btw, if any1, new players in particular, wonder how much dam the drowning towers actually do on average, its between 1 and 2 times the nominal dam. for tier2 drowning, its 16500< expected dam < 33000. pm me if u want a proof

wait, what? ingame it explicitly says "chance is equal to dam/ current hp". so whats correct?

this has been discussed before in this thread: https://forums.eletd.com/Blacksmith-and-Wel...wers-t1617.html i wrote a long answer to this thread, but it got rejected as the original thread is older than 90 days. therefore ill post my answer here. if u like what i write, u could maybe merge the threads. basically, im a bit fed up of always having to go for either one of them in ap mode if i want to maximize my builds. or in other words: the fact that all builds not involving them are inferior significantly reduces the variety in ap games. now, to the original answer i wanted to add to the old discussion about this issue: "imho blacksmith and well lvl 3 are slightly overpowered. for example lets discuss a build evolving around orbit towers: DFL lvl 2, then u have the choice of either adding 3 earth and 1 fire or adding 2 nature 2 water. orbit tower + blacksmith lvl 3. this is a dam of [dps*3]. with the 5 ele build u got orbit, vodoo lvl 2, corrosion lvl 2 and well lvl 2. corrosion enhances ur damage by a factor of 70/53. (47% dam reduction reduced to 30%.) well lvl 2 gives a factor of 1.3. vodoo gives a boost of about 50%, a factor of 1.495 to be more precise. overall, the damage done is dps*1.3*1.495*70/53 = [dps*2.568]. so blacksmith lvl 3 on its own beats the combined effect of lvl 2 well, corrosion and voodoo. ofc the 5 ele build is still superior as u also get storm, nova, impulse and tidal towers. but no matter which kind of main dam towers are chosen, it becomes a question of cost efficiency. 6 lvl 3 blacksmiths cost some 18,900 gold; 6 well, 2 corrosion, 2 vodoo, 2 storm and 2 nova towers (tier 2 each) together cost 47,500 gold. and the build with blacksmith instead of WN also means that u get gold 2 towers which cover the elemental weakness of the orbit towers with their earth dam. so, when considering the cost of the support towers in the 5 ele example which is weakening the amout of dam towers, a "primitive" build of blacksmith lvl 3 + orbit and/or gold towers plus maybe some fire towers is competitive with a much more sophisticated build which uses a suitable combination of orbit, impulse and tidal as damage and well lvl 2, voodoo, corrosion, storm and nova as support. sounds kinda imbalanced to me. maybe there are better (or more simple and common) examples and ofc u dont necessarily need 2 of each tier 2 triple support until very late in the game... but the combination of "brute force" and cost efficiency that the tier 3 well and blacksmith provide seems slightly overpowered to me. 175% would easily be enough imho. i wouldnt consider the tier 3 trickery to be on the same lvl btw. tower positioning is absolutely crucial in this game and the suitable areas for each tower are rather limited. casting copies of ur towers therefore necessarily will take place on worse locations. and the additional copies also mean more space to cover with slow and/or support, reducing the cost efficiency implicitly. so although these towers somehow are meant as a conceptual triplet, only the well and blacksmith are overpowered at lvl 3. " any thoughts or feedback are welcome

i suffered from wrong tower building and my micro juice was running out. Devestating to waste 1 second after round 50. Also i knew i could afford to calm down and leak a few, i knew i was sorted once i had lvl 2 voodoo + drowning. i didnt want to criticize u, it was just kinda.. u were playing a perfect game of eletd for 50 lvls and then all of a sudden.... *ggg* again gz to ur "almost" perfect game

very nice! vodoo + corrosion lvl 2 is nice support. gozu micro for the first 40 or so waves^^ but wtf was wrong with lvl 50? u had over 30k in the bank and leaked over 10 creeps but very good job!

their dps is very low. they are not suited for a competitive game with at least one opponent going for a rush build. and they suck at the ronald stage. besides, ive seen over 2k ronald kills with life towers on normal mode and there are builds with which u can kill infinitely many of them on very hard. imho the issue with life towers is not that they are really bad, its that a remarkable percentage of the really bad players uses them. and unless the game consists of noobs only, they get pwnt when they do so.

yup, very hard, chaos, extreme, random mode completed. i was using extra short mode though... (but with the chosen order of the elements i could have survived with arrows support quite easily until lvl 30...) actually im not even very proud, because the ele picks were very close to picking myself. (lvl 2 gold at lvl 40, lvl 3 blacksmith before the last waves...) and quite a lot light creeps during the last waves, while my main towers were gold.... so both with the elepicks and with the chaoz choices i was rather lucky. anyway, i havent seen a rep of this setting completed so far, so i hope u like it^^ no particularly good game by me though, i didnt really give my best vh sr chaos extreme.w3g

hi guys, a replay of mine. not particularly good, i played quite sloppy... oh, and i was trying positions to pressure my opponents, so dont criticize that i was overbuilding and didnt care that much for interest. and yes, i know that the final build only worked coz i abused but thats the only way how this build could work on multiplayer: pressure the others until i am the only survivor and then abuse until i got enough money... anyway, when microing my towers i didnt lose a single life for over 2.5k fully upgraded ronalds, so i guess its safe to say that this build could kill infinitely many of them. one more thing: we all know the bug where certain towers stun ronalds.... after 4k kills i tried to add a storm tower, but it seemed like the storm effect would "break" the ronald-stun-bug. maybe this is helpful in understanding the bug. 10k ronald kills.w3g

the same happened when i used gold or impulse or drowning towers together with waterfall towers. i think if a creep gets hit by a sufficient amount of towers during a certain interval of time it gets stunned. when an intermediate amount of towers (~12) attacks them they move like it would lag, so they are partially stunned. if more than 12 "waterfalled" towers attack them they cant move at all.

just sell ur towers after some 2500-ish ronald kills....... in the current version they stop upgrading after 1500 kills, so if u didnt leak once for 1000 ronalds we will believe u that u can kill infinitely many of them. -
im just curios -whats the record?^^ also, what is the record on very hard ap extreme mode? would be great if some1 could tell me coz i recently fell in love with ronald hunting^^ (just made 14xx ronalds on vh ap, but with quite some more room for improvement^^)
