Just how random is my random chat allowed to be?

Do I have to have a coherent subject? Coherent sentances that, added up, make no sense? How about actual words that make no sense in the order they're arranged? Can I just mash my face against the keyboard and call it a legitimate topic?

Please, I must know! My very soul burns with the desire for knowledge!

According to the rules, you can only feel free to "discuss any topic". Also, you can't be offensive. A topic is traditionally defined as follows:

   1.  The subject of a speech, essay, thesis, or discourse.
   2. A subject of discussion or conversation.
   3. A subdivision of a theme, thesis, or outline. See synonyms at subject.
   4. Linguistics. A word or phrase in a sentence, usually providing information from previous discourse or shared knowledge, that the rest of the sentence elaborates or comments on. Also called theme.

So, as long as what you're saying could reasonably be explained to be any of those, you're good to go.
