This quick release fixes issues found in B17.

Changelog:

-Napalm (Flamethrower Tower) now has a splash (in terms of units affected) of 150 (the full damage range of the tower)

-Flesh Golem movespeed back to 522

-Flesh Golem abuse...suppressed :twisted:

-Fixed clone pure/periodic bug

-Tooltip fix for Trickery/Well/Blacksmith regarding non-support

-Trickery ratio of acceptable real clone changed to 1/2 for all levels, meaning only two clones per 1 real tower

-Clones no longer increase your networth (multiboard, query ability)

-100% success against undead backtracking bug and any other movement disruption bugs

-Undead trigger further optimized by this success

-Ronald death (and respawn) trigger optimized slightly

I'm happy to present to you guys the eighteenth beta. This one sees the fixing of a long running bug, a massive amount of balance changes, and a lot of code optimization for performance increases.

This won't be the 4.0 RC, but it sure is close. We've hopefully taken a good stab at micro balance, and next we review our changes and attack macro for the finale.

This quick release fixes issues found in B18.

I'm happy to present to you guys the nineteenth beta. This one has balance changes, bug fixes, a few cosmetic changes, and a new command.

This may or may not be the 4.0 RC depending on what we do with macro balance, either way we are really close. We've hopefully covered all or most of our bases by this point.

If we decide not to make anymore global changes, then aside from a few tweaks here or there this is it (new mode coming in 19b, but straightforward to test so...).

-Game optimized heavily, I mean heavily...the late game will play a lot, lot smoother and if you're interested in how read below...(fixes end-game/Ronald lag, quite possibly Ronald bugs)

Optimization:

In a nutshell, the private beta change to fix max hp is responsible. Essentially, it runs a mod system that builds up a unit's hp by repetitively using hp modifying abilities. The default setting is a factor of 8 for max power of 2. Thus, 256 was the largest block size available to build up hp. Imagine a Ronald with over 2 million hp, and you understand the problem.

I tested level 60 with 8 players and no towers, and my FPS went from 60 down to the 20-30 level the entire time creeps were spawning. I was also getting major spikes. After the change, my FPS stayed at 60+ and everything was smooth. Imagine Ronald which not only spawns 30, but keeps spawning over and over. Presto!

What did I do? I changed the factor to 16 for max power of 2. Thus, 65536 is now the largest possible block size. Enjoy.

This is long overdue, so I hope that it doesn't disappoint. Simply put, there is a lot of new stuff to enjoy. I hope we can reinvigorate activity with this, so don't hesitate to post feedback!

-Race Mode. This is a rather simple mode to test. Please play through a game or two with this mode and see what happens.

-Creep Stuttering. See if you can reproduce the "stutter" bug. Your best bets (if it is possible) will be Laser and Quark (both 0.31 speed now).

-New Towers. Try out Quark and Flamethrower. Do they work as intended? Flesh Golem is certainly bug free, but I'd like feedback on concept too.

-Balance. How does 1125 range feel? How does 120% tier 3 dual support feel? I need feedback regarding these changes.

-Cosmetics. What do you think of the new effects/models?

Notice the change in activation code!

The fourth beta towards the 4.2 release. There will be a subsequent .b version in the near future. However, changes will be limited to mechanics only (Map Meta Data, TextSplat replacing TextTag). Thus, this marks the end of new gameplay content. I need everyone's support in testing this version for stability and production quality.

First:

In order to play the beta, you must type -gophers before the first round spawns. If you do not do so, the game will end.

Make sure to put to good use the -level, -gold, and -lumber commands.

Second:

The following things are no cause for concern:

-Nothing!

Third:

Things to test:

  • Draft Pick. This should be ready to go now...
  • New Towers. Try out Vapor and Mushroom. Any bugs? Do you like them?
  • Balance. Any towers feel too powerful or weak?
  • Element Query. How's that for display.
  • Sudden Death. Does Ronald work after the 2000th kill? Do you like this change?
  • Extreme Areas. Are they all buildable now? Can you get to any of the random areas?
  • Essences. Ok now?
  • Dialogs Singleplayer. Good?
  • Random. How do Hydro and Quaker feel now? Bugs?

Fourth:

Here is the changelog:

-One life now counted as "full life" in extreme

-Element Query displayed better

-Singleplayer = same dialogs as non-host = no useless dialogs to deal with

-Improved messages in draft pick

-Random command disabled in draft pick

-Fixed position of default essences (freebie ones)

-Loading time decreased (amount unknown)

-Optimized Same Random trigger just a tiny bit

-Fog removed for better compatibility with "Zoom" and also performance increase

-Extreme Mode "thing" removed, you can now build there too

-Incantation build tooltip error fixed

-Spout (Hydro) and Pulverize (Quaker) now have "fairer" randomization

-Optimized floating text and prevented limit cutoff

-Optimized trigger dealing with random bosses, hopefully reduced spawning lag

-Sunburn effect now continues on after death of unit, gfx lag reduced, now texttag indicating stack amount

It has been awhile since you guys have had something to test. The stagnation is over, and 4.3 is here with some radical changes. The next beta will feature 4-5 new towers. Njoy!

Here is the changelog:

-Added a 5 second fade in cinematic with web address

-Fast creeps now move at normal speed and speed up periodically instead (see below)

-Added 6 abilities to the builder by default via items (see below), "Disable Weapons" mode removes them

-Added new creep type "Image" (see below)

-Ronald upgrade system tweaked (see below)

-Shortened singleplayer dialog menu by eliminating multiplayer only options

**Builder Weapons**

-Builders have 600 mana with 1 mana per second regen, the six abilities are cast via items

-Heal creeps in 500 AoE for 25% of max HP instantly, 300 mana cost

-Give creeps max armor in 500 AoE for 5 seconds, 300 mana cost

-Give creeps max speed in 500 AoE for 5 seconds, 300 mana cost

-Steal 4% of target player's (builder) gold, 150 mana cost

-Put target builder to sleep for 5 seconds, 150 mana cost

-Instantly sell target tower (giving full refund), 150 mana cost

**Image**

-When this creep has full mana (15), it will spawn an image the next time it is damaged

-Image lasts 5 seconds and takes normal damage, image doesn't leak or give gold

-Levels 13, 23, 27, 38, 42, 51, 57

**Fast**

-When this creep reaches full mana (3), it will burst for one second

-Burst gives 100% increased move speed

**Ronald**

-Gains Undead at 75 killed

-Gains Image at 200 Killed

-Gains Healing at 350 Killed

-Loses Image, Gains Mech at 500 killed

I'm sad to announce that we will not be able to fit in the 4-5 new towers for 4.3. They will make an appearance in 4.3b or 4.4. Meanwhile, the second beta is here. This is the release candidate for 4.3.

-The base number used in the calculation of bounty is now variable depending on difficulty level

-VH is 1.1, this was the past default value

-H is 1.0985, N is 1.097, E is 1.095, VE is 1.0925

-Bounty is equal to Base^(Level-1)
